(CH2CHCH2)2NMe2Cl was (i) converted with com. herbicides to org. salts of general formula (CH2= =CHCH2)2N+Me2X-,where X- = 4-CI-2-MeC6H3OCH2COO-(I),2,4- Cl2H3CH2OO-(II),4-CI-2-MeC6H 3CHMe-COO-(III), or 2-MeO-3,6-CI2C6H 2COO-(IV) (yield 96-98%) or (ii) polymerized with 2,2'-azo-bis(2-amidinopropane) dicnloride to resp. polymer and converted with pairs of com. herbicides to mixed polymeric salts of I and III (1:1),of I and IV (2:1) of II and III (1:1) or of II and IV (2:1) (yield 90-95%). The salts were studied for biol. activity against some weeds. The salts with X =/,///and IV showed higher activity against cornflower than the com. herbicides. The polymeric salts showed lower activity than the com. herbicides used except for the salt with X = I + IV against cleavers.

Four ionic iiqs. with 2-Me-4-CIC5H3OCH 2COOΘ anion were studied for herbicidai activity against white mustard under std. conditions. The ionic iiqs. showed higher efficiency than a com. herbicide used for comparison.
