Instability of the two-phase flow in a channel where the fluid evaporates is related to occurrence of pressure and flow rate variations. Too excessive vari-ations of pressure may be dangerous as they can lead to deformation of channel walls and in consequence to the breakdown of the evaporator. Changes of mass flow rate, which accompany the pressure pulsations can, on the other hand, lead to boiling crisis, which would reflect in reduced rates of heat exchange in the evaporator. Instabilities of produced in evaporator can lead also to the unstable operation of turbine. Therefore the issue of local and overall stability is of sig-nificant importance to the designers of micro CHP systems. Source

To optimize a waveguide-based microwave plasma source for hydrogen production the influence of electron concentration in the plasma and the height h of the reduced-height waveguide section on tuning characteristics has been examined. The optimal height has been chosen so that the plasma source worked efficiently and stably in a wide range of electron concentration. The tuning characteristics obtained numerically for the optimal height 10 mm were compared with experimental ones. A very good agreement has been found. Source


Anaerobic fermentation obtaining methane is applied in sludge stabilization processes. Methane is used to generate heat as well as the electric current in the fuel cells systems, gas turbines or cogenerative engines characterized by the high temperature oxidation. High temperature oxidation products (H2O, CO, CO2 and other flue gas) can be used in ORC cycles to generate the electric power. The following thesis presents the project of more efficient electric power generation system than the one used in the currently and based on cogenerative aggregates (piston engines). Models mentioned in the thesis: - ORC cycle (Organic Ranking Cycle), - gas turbine - an anaerobic sludge stabilization system The presented installation is more efficient in the electricity production (about 38%) than the traditional piston cogenerative engines used for biogas combustion (about 32%). As it is commonly known, heat exchangers are widely used in power generators equipment. The biggest disadvantage of conventional heat exchangers is that, in case of the energy load variation, it must be replaced by the one of different size. The aim of this work is to specify a method of combining micro channel heat exchangers into a grid, realising different powers. It was ment to specify the most accurate micro channel heat exchangers connection, in order to increase the intensity of the heat exchange process. Studied problem was about heating the ORC working medium (R134a) using waste heat (hot water). In this paper, there has been studied the fenomenon of the heat exchange process in the micro channel heat exchanger grid, which will be further called the integral heat exchanger. There have been studied three cases of micro channel heat exchangers connections, such as: parallel-parallel, parallel (heating water)-serial (R134a) and parallel (R134a) - serial (heating water). On the basis of the results of the analytical analysis it has been stated, that the serial (heating water)-parallel (R134a 7) micro channel heat exchangers combination is the most suitable for the most intensive heat exchange. © 2015, Middle Pomeranian Scientific Society.
