The dispersion of nonresonant electromagnetic waves of millimeter waveband absorption in structures based on opal matrix with imbedded magnetic impurities has been experimentally investigated. A study is made of the TM- and TE-wave propagation in a periodic layered resonator composed of alternating layers of two different semiconductors. The dispersion dependence for a finite medium and field distributions are obtained. The effect of the dissipation processes on the wave dispersion is considered. The influence of dielectric permittivities of uniform half-spaces on the dispersion dependence of the waves is demonstrated. © 2010 IEEE. Source

Here we present the experimental study of spectral properties of specials metamaterials, formed by periodical composite structures/devices. The numerical analysis of their spectra is performed.
