In the competitive environment of supply chain, the traditional method of inventory management has been unable to meet the needs of enterprise development. In order to solve the problems of supply chain operation efficiency, Vendor managed inventory (VMI) offers new methods. Taking Bosch as a case, the article studied on the concrete implementation of the VMI and the proceeds in China's manufacturing industry, and had come to the conclusion that the VMI can improve the competitiveness of enterprises. © 2013 Springer-Verlag. So as to improve the noise reduction performance and the optimization efficiency of the muffler, an optimization design method based on acoustic transfer matrix and genetic algorithm was proposed in this paper, wherein the transmission loss at certain frequency was treated as the optimization objective, and each structural dimension of the muffler as the design variable, the structural optimization design was conducted through genetic algorithm, thus the optimal solutions were eventually obtained; Moreover, single objective optimization and multiple objective optimization were successively performed, with the results compared with each other, through which it could be demonstrated that the result of the latter was superior to that of the former, concretely, the noise was reduced by 21.32 dB. © JVE INTERNATIONAL LTD. The cleavage fracture behaviors are studied in notched specimens of a low alloy hot rolled steel 16MnR. The results show that two types of cleavage initiation sites are existed in notched specimens, one being related to the inclusions ahead of notch root (IC type) and the other related to inclusions located ahead of string cracks far from the notch root (SIC type). The types of initiation sites are influenced strongly on temperature, changing from IC type at -196°C to SIC type at -130°C. In both IC and SIC initiation mechanisms, the crack nucleation is induced by inclusions and the final fracture is controlled by propagation of a ferrite grain-sized crack into matrix grain. The cleavage fracture of IC initiation type in notched specimens satisfies a dual-criterion model, i.e. a critical plastic strain εp≥ εpc for initiating a crack nucleus and a critical tensile stress σyy≥ σ f for its propagation. While for SIC initiation type, the dual-criterion model is evolved with the expression of ε p+εps≥εpc and σ yy+σyys≥ σf. © (2011) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. Source

Size effect is a critical factor that needs to be considered when conducting micro mechanical machining processes. In this paper, a cutting process simulation technology is used to simulate a single tooth's engagement with work piece from the entry point to the exit point in a slot milling operation. The obtained specific cutting forces from simulation are employed to analyze the size effect and the minimum chip thickness with variable radii of tool edges. Micro machining experiments with different machining conditions are implemented by use of a high speed and high precision machining spindle to investigate the size effect on machined surface integrity and burr width. The optimal cutting parameters have been analyzed based on the simulation and cutting test results. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland. Source

Martial arts are obtained through killing in the history of fighting. In the present absence of actual combat, martial arts gradually lose its true mass. Fighting movement and fighting injuries can be reconstructed through the computer simulation. Moreover, we can reconstruct the genetic environment of fighting, obtain techniques by the simulation of genetic optimization, and compared with existing martial arts. We can understand the principles of the fighting techniques in order to recover the lost inheritance. © 2013 Springer-Verlag. Source
