In order to cluster and identify 10 varieties of Chuxiong population of Camellia reticulata Lindl., the difference of DNA among the 10 varieties was detected by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and then hierarchical cluster and principal component analysis based on average spectra of DNA was used to establish standard clustering and identifying model. The result indicated that (1) DNA fingerprints based on FTIR of the 10 varieties are different from each other, which is also supported by variance analysis (p < 0.05). (2) The rate of clustering of 30 samples is 100%. Likewise, the rate of identifying of 10 samples is 100% as well. (3) It was speculated based on clustering distance coefficients that Guomei (Variety 5) was formed by grafting the scion from the original old tree Xiangguo (Variety 1) to seedling from seed. The conclusion is that DNA FTIR is an effective manner of clustering and identifying Chuxiong population of C. reticulata Lindl., and can be used to calculate the origin of ancient Camellia tree. © 2015 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. To compare the related physiological and biochemical parameters of "Sanjiao fragrant glutinous rice from Yao'an county" and its induced variety treated by laser and electric field. To measure the content of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, Lys, Pro under low temperature treatment and soluble sugar; the activity of amylase, catalase and nitrate reductase; seed vigor and respiratory rate. The activity of catalase and nitrate reductase, respiratory rate, and the content of Lys did not change so much; the activity of amylase declined; but the content of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, soluble sugar and seed vigor increased by laser and electric field treatment. The related physiological and biochemical parameters of "Sanjiao fragrant glutinous rice from Yao'an county" and its induced variety treated by laser and electric field have changed, some of them increased, whereas some of them decreased. The explants (root tip, shoot tip, stem segments and leaf segments) from Phalaenopsis hybrid were used in this experiment. The effects of NAA, 6-BA, AC, CM and above explants on callus induction on KC medium were investigated by using orthogonal design (L16 (54) ). The results indicated that the optimum medium for callus induction is 6-BA 4.0 mg/L+ NAA 0.4 mg/+CM 100 ml/L+AC 0.4 mg/L, and stem segment was used as explant, and the highest induction rate was 52% as well. The statistical results by SPSS11.5 showed that the hormones have significant effects on callus induction of Phalaenopsis. ©2010 IEEE. Source
