Fish show behavioral patterns in the cognition of their environment. For the fish behavior in the downstream migrations before migration barriers, large knowledge gaps are still apparent in comparison to upstream migrations. Behavioral observations give important indications for the positioning and constructive development of fish migration facilities. Source

Greater Moscow demands a high level of water resources management including the sound knowledge of the flow process in the basin of the Moskva river. Present work contributes to this by identying hydrologic process properties and by representing them in hydrologic models. Using these models, simulation of natural flow processes and of the impact of human measures may deliver essential conclusions towards an integrated water resources management in the Moskva basin.
