A web-based workplace performance improvement system was developed for managing real-time manufacturing processes and the level of execution of the production tasks at workplaces. The system’s web aspect provides significant advantages, as the system is distributed through inter-operable, cross-platform, and highly pluggable web-service components. It is possible to estimate the effectiveness of the production process at the workplace through different key performance indicators. The main objective is to eliminate excessive idle time, but also to analyse possibilities of reducing various times involved in the manufacturing process, such as the setup time, quality control time, etc. The system was developed in cooperation with Fujitsu Services Estonia, and it is possible to integrate it with the human resources managing system PERSONA (Fujitsu Services). © 2015, Estonian Academy Publishers. Key performance indicators for shaping the company's manufacturing operations are formed into a matrix that describes the level of strategic planning in production performance. Production performance evaluation system is a resultant tracking model that aids the company to react quickly to changes in business environment, while maintaining security of supply, quality and profitability of production operations.

This paper will focus on the concept of how to reduce the complexity of connectivity in an integrated manufacturing engineering system using Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) approach. Software platform is developed for designing and implementing the interaction and communication between mutually interacting software subsystems and modules for manufacturing engineering systems. The developed approach enables a manufacturing engineering systems to make use of a comprehensive, flexible and consistent integration and to reduce the complexity of the applications being integrated. The main objective of the current study is to analyse ESB systems and integrate the data and activities considered with products, supply chain and shop-floor management processes.

The value creation process do not start and end at a company's borders but span to the complete supply chain through to the customer. B2B framework covers relations between the customers and supplies. The basic to this framework are price requests and offers. The main objective of the current article is to develop the structure and functionality for offer management in the networking manufacturing. The offer management objectives and key functionalities have described. The principles to achieve best results and risk management tasks have also given in this article. The criteria of efficiency in offer management process in the case of a single company and in the condition of networking manufacturing are considered.

The main purpose of the current paper is to introduce information systems development concepts and chosen technologies for E-Manufacturing solutions. The main goal is to achieve interoperable systems with high efficiency and reliability by using MDA (Model Driven Architecture) and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) technologies. Current scope focuses to MDA development where custom application is automatically deployed into Alfresco environment by using Eclipse modeler with Topcased layer together with SIDE-Labs application generator. The MDA toolset will be evolved to generate ERP implementation model with custom functionality for MS Dynamics NAV.

Cost-effective manufacturing and technology-based manufacturing are basic keywords in contemporary manufacturing. Efficiency and productivity require extremely good job management, correlation of resources and competencies to production requirements, as well as continuous monitoring of possible wastes and additional expenditures, i.e. real efficiency of the continuous improvement process. In the current article the methodology of technological resources and competence management evaluation in terms of manufacturing system ontology are analysed in pre-order and post-order fulfilment stages. The expedience of resources operation and order outsourcing, but also corresponding risk management principles are analysed. The elaborated methodology enables enterprises to implement a more rational utilization of manufacturing resources by estimating the influence of existing competencies and technological possibilities into productivity and efficiency.

The hypothesis of this work is that information systems development is possible with lower TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), if OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) model is developed together with OLTP (On-Line Transaction Processing) model and if those two models are in relation to each other. That kind of combined model makes possible to develop virtual data warehouse solution, with automatically generated ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) business logic. The result of this work is the customized development method of information systems, where are joined together OLAP and OLTP conceptions to create the combined data model. Composed method is base for the virtual data warehouse to provide same kind of functionality like classic and static OLAP dimensional database does.
