India is a developing country. India’s population is over 1.27 billion people (2014) which are approximated as one-sixth of the world’s population. Such population growth may leave behind the world’s most heavily populated nation China by 2025 (US Census Bureau 2011). Solid waste management is an important environmental issue of all developed and developing countries. The growth of solid waste is basically due to population explosion, urbanization, and mismanagement of municipal corporation. Limitations of Indian Municipality Corporation are waste gathering inefficiency, lack of financial funds, poor planning, and lack of technical knowledge on changing complication of waste materials. In this paper, few important optimization models/techniques proposed by different researchers are studied that may be beneficial for ongoing project work in Municipal solid waste management (MSWM) in different metropolitan cities at various states in India. Much work has not been done in this direction. On the basis of extensive study of literature, it is suggested that the Indian municipal corporation must adopt 4R principles involving reduce, reuse, recycle, and recover to minimize solid waste. © Springer India 2015.

We have synthesized Cu(II) complexes with m- hydroxy benzaldehyde semicarbazone (L1 =Hm-HBSC), m-hydroxy benzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (L2= Hm-HBTSC), p- hydroxyl benzaldehyde semicarbazone (L3= Hp-HBSC) and p-hydroxybenzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (L4= Hp-HBTSC). These complexes were characterized through elemental analysis, molecular weight, electrical conductance and magnetic susceptibilities at room temperature The observed magnetic moments of all these complexes are consistent with the presence of a single unpaired electron. On the basis of above observations the complexes were proposed to be octahedral structure. These complexes were screened for anti-bacterial and antifungal properties and have exhibited potential activity. m-hydroxybenzaldehyde, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde Semicarbazone,.

Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is the process of machining electrically conductive materials by using precisely controlled sparks that occur between an electrode and a workpiece in the presence of a dielectric fluid. Now a day's EDM process is commonly used for machining of metal matrix composites which have vast applications in automobile, aircraft, and railway sectors. Aluminium metal matrix composites are one of the important types of MMC because of their advanced properties like highest strength and light weight. Development of these lightweight materials has provided the automotive industry with numerous possibilities for vehicle weight reduction. In this paper we have discussed about EDM process, its parameters and role of EDM process in machining of aluminium based metal matrix composite materials (AMMC). The boom of RFID usage-especially in logistics-has taken down the prices of RFID components and therefore opened also possibilities for other business fields to benefit the advantages of RFID. The technology for radio frequency identification (RFID) enables data to be transmitted by a tiny portable device, called a tag, which is read by an RFID reader and processed according to the needs of a particular application. It is only recently that the technology has begun to take off in the mass market. RFID applications in mobile phone business have not yet been deployed in other that small scale, but the discussion around this topic has been really started. Analysts predict that RFID will revolutionize areas of industry, such as supply chain management and the retail business, for example by reducing costs with better stock management. As the components for RFID-systems - tags and readers - have become smaller and cheaper, the technology has begun to take-off, in a variety of different areas This paper focuses on the applications of RFID technology in mobile telecommunication services. Many experts see RFID as an enabler for ubiquitous computing - the integration of computation into the environment: any device, anytime, anywhere. Reservation could be as simple as holding your phone close (less than 20 centimeters) to a poster or advertising billboard. RFID enabled mobile phones could be a first step in this direction. The combination of mobile phones and RFID technologies promises great potential in the market for mobile telecommunication services, which is discussed in this paper. © 2010 IEEE.

This presents a solution to connect multiple Set-Top-Boxes (STBs) to a single telephone connection for accessing the outside network. The Direct-To-Home (DTH) network is basically data receiving only system. It is not able to send data back to the DTH provider. The paper STB requires access to the outside network for sending user requests to the DTH provider for tasks like interactive TV, On-demand services, live gaming etc and to processing payments for subscriptions, DTH charges, etc. In this approach, out of many installed STBs in a location only one STB needs to be connected to the telephone connection physically. The rest all STBs can access the telephone line virtually. This saves the effort to bring a physical telephone connection to all STBs present in a location. © 2011 IEEE.

The Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is the new arising sub-field of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) that made the already existing conventional healthcare methods to reach a new level of smart human monitoring. The scarcity in terms of power supply to the network makes network lifetime to be one of the main challenge for which an energy efficient routing technique is required. In this paper, an energy efficient fuzzy based adaptive routing protocol is proposed which is a fuzzy based clustering protocol that makes use of direct transmission technique depending upon the criticality and the location of the Sensor Nodes (SN). The simulation results show that the proposed technique improves the stability period and lifetime of the network. © 2015 IEEE.

It is an established fact that sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies in the central-eastern Pacific associated with the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) act as predominant forcing of the All India Rainfall Index variability. However, the same has been found to be difficult to simulate. In the present study, we have attempted to improve the seasonal forecast skill of the Indian Summer Monsoon Rainfall Index (ISMRI). Correlation analysis is done to see the effect of SST indices of Niño-1 + 2, Niño-3, Niño-3.4 and Niño-4 regions on ISMRI with a lag period of 1-8 seasons. Significant positive correlations, with confidence level above 99%, are found between ISMRI and (i) Niño-3 index with a lag of 4 (June-July-August) and 5 (March-April-May) seasons, (ii) Niño-3.4 index with a lag of 4 and 5 seasons and (iii) Niño-4 index, with a lag of 5 seasons before the onset of monsoon. These SST indices are used for prediction of ISMRI using multiple linear regression and Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) models. A comparative examination of the results suggests that the ANN model has better predictive skills than all the linear regression models investigated, implying that the relationship between the Niño indices and the ISMRI is essentially non-linear in nature. © 2011 Elsevier B.V.

The number of Web sites is growing exponentially and so are the people who are accessing them on mobile devices including people with special abilities. Mobile-friendly Web sites further increase traffic to the Web site, customer participation, and boost e-Commerce. In such a scenario, it is important to ensure that the Web sites are accessible on mobile devices for all users. Automatic tools provide an easy and a less error-prone mechanism for evaluating the mobile adequacy of these Web sites. The present study focuses primarily on the comparison between four tools of mobile Web adequacy evaluation, namely mobileOK checker, taw, EvalAcess Mobile, and mobiReady. The comparison is made based on three parameters, i.e., correctness, completeness, coverage with respect to the conformance of Mobile Web Best Practices (MWBP), and four groups of mobile Web best practice guidelines, i.e., Navigability and Links, Page Layout and Content, Page Definition, and User Input. Intrareliability of the tools and inter-reliability between the tools are also investigated. The improvement required in MWBP and the role of various mobile platforms in mobile adequacy today are also discussed. The study was conducted using automatic tools, manual evaluation, and statistical tools. The results of the study indicate that the coverage of the automated tools was found to lie between 45 and 68 %. The completeness ranged from 14 % (by MobileOK) to 59 % (by EvalAccess mobile). The correctness of the tools ranged from 42 to 51 %. Statistical analysis highlighted that the tools showed no significant differences in reporting false positives, false negatives and true positives, except taw and EvalAccess which reported some difference in reporting true positives. The intrareliability evaluation showed that the tools were highly stable. Intrareliability evaluation done by Krippendorff’s alpha revealed that taw and mobileOK show the similar results while evaluating the MWBP guidelines in most cases. However, for more accurate evaluations manual evaluation along with automatic evaluation must be performed. The practical significance of such a study can lead to improving the guidelines, modification of the tools, proactive use of the tools, and an overall awareness about building the Web sites accessible for all. © 2016 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg

After the reliable commercial use of speech based processing be it text to speech conversion vice-versa, Interactive response system, product marketing or speech based search. Researchers are now focused on to the study of the emotional content of speech signals, and hence, many systems have been proposed for the classification and identification of the emotional content of a spoken utterance. In this paper attempt are made to present the features of emotional Hindi language, for identification and classification. Speech databases have been used for speech recognition, speech synthesis, speaker recognition, language translation, emotion recognition, emotion conversion. An attempt has been made classify emotional speech corpus developed at IPEe A study is also preformed to understand the effect of feature selection in emotion identification and classification. Emotional speech classification is preformed on the basis of LPCC and MFCC features are also performed using K-mean cluster analysis. © 2015 IEEE.

DNA computing is a new computational field which harnesses the immense parallelism, high density information and low power dissipation that brings probable challenges and opportunities to conventional cryptography. In recent years, many image encryption algorithms have been proposed using DNA solicit but many are not secure as such. In this regard, this paper proposes an improved and efficient algorithm to encrypt a grayscale image of any size based on DNA sequence addition operation. The original image is encrypted into two phases. In the first phase, the intermediate cipher is obtained by addition of the DNA sequence matrix and masking matrix. In the second phase, pixel values are scrambled to make it more robust. In this way the original image is encrypted. The results of simulated experiment and security analysis of the proposed image encryption algorithm, evaluated from histogram analysis and key sensitivity analysis, depicts that scheme not only can attain good encryption but can also hinder exhaustive attack and statistical attack. Thus, results are passable. © 2015 IEEE.
