This paper deals with the synthesis and structural characterization of iron doped rutile (TiO2) nanopowders and a mixture of nano rutile and transparent iron oxide by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM), Selected Area Electron Diffraction (SAED), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX). The optical properties of the dried acrylpolyurethane polymer films containing the mentioned nano powders (UV-Vis spectra, transparency and colours) have been studied and compared with coating containing others nano oxides (like nano-CeO2 nano-ZnO or nono-Fe2O3) used as UV absorbers for transparent organic coatings. Ceramics with composition of Pb(1-x/2)(Zr0.52Ti 0.48)1-xNbxO3 with x = 0.01 - 0.025, were prepared by conventional mixed oxide route were investigated. A microstructure with mean grains sizes of 1-3μm were found and the apparent density of 7.1-7.6 g/cm3. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties were determined on ceramic discs with a diameter of 10 - 18 mm and 1mm thick. Dielectric constant and losses have been measured in the range of frequencies at 40 Hz - 400 kHz using impedance analyzer. The piezoelectric constant k p were calculate using the resonance and antiresonance values. It showed that the Nb additives were helpful in improving both of the dielectric and piezoelectric properties. Source
