This contribution reports on properties and characterization of InAlN/GaN structures prepared by metal organic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD) using secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS). The SIMS revealed the vertical cross section of the InAlN/GaN sample structures on SiC substrate and also visualizes the different growth procedure results. The SIMS comparison of the structures shows the Al, In and Si incorporation to the neighbouring layers and has influence on the in-plane stress in AlN layer and measured electrical properties of the fabricated HEMT devices. ©2010 IEEE.

The contribution reports on fabrication and characterization of TiO 2 thin films on Si substrate. The TiO2 thin films are used for photonic devices in optical communication systems. The most important parameter for the waveguide structures is the refractive index. The crystalline TiO2 polymorphs can have different refractive index depending on the structure phase, which is technology dependent. The waveguide structures was prepared by pulsed laser deposition using 248 nm KrF laser source and targets of Ti or rutile in oxygen atmosphere. The optical characterization were done using spectroscopic ellipsometry providing the information about electron band gap values and determining the optical parameters (thickness and refractive index) of prepared TiO2 thin films. Secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS) and secondary electron microscopy (SEM) was done to verify the vertical and chemical structure. ©2010 IEEE.

The focus of the article is on the selection, adjustment and overall performance of speech features at acoustical and prosodic level for speaker recognition task. Namely: perceptual linear prediction, Mel frequency cepstra, cepstral linear prediction, formant frequencies, and different auxiliary features. Both brief theoretical backgrounds and possible computational methods are outlined in regard to the speaker recognition task. In the series of experiments using 114 speakers database, it was observed that a model based method slightly outperformed the perceptual ones. Furthermore, it was found that auxiliary and prosodic features may not always improve scores when processed together with acoustic ones. On average the success rate was about 90% whereas the best recorded score was 99.1% for cepstral linear prediction coefficients in connection with k-nearest neighbor classifier. © 2015 Croatian Society Electronics in Marine-ELMAR.

We consider subsets G of a generalized effect algebra E with 0∈G and such that every interval [0, q]G = [0, q]E ∩ G of G (q ∈ G, q ≠ 0) is a sub-effect algebra of the effect algebra [0, q]E. The paper presents basic information about special induction sensors for heavy industrial conditions, namely a strong electromagnetic disturbance. As the major parameters are the extreme geometrical width of sensing and precise measurement of the time moment for transition of magnetic markers. For this sensor the gradient differential concept with a core manifesting strong shape anisotropy was selected. The developed sensor is used in practice with great success. © 2010 FEI STU.
