Teams are ranked to show their authority over each other. Existing methods rank the cricket teams using an ad-hoc points system entirely based on the winning and losing of matches and ignores number of runs or wickets from which a team wins. In this paper, adoptions of h-index and PageRank are proposed for ranking teams to overcome the weakness of existing methods. Each team is represented by a node in the graph with two teams creates a weighted directed edge between each other by playing a match and the losing team points to the winning team. The intuition is to get more points for a team winning from a stronger team than winning from a weaker team by considering the number of runs or wickets also in addition to just winning and losing matches. The results show that proposed ranking methods provide quite promising insights of one day and test team rankings. The effect of damping factor d is also studied on the performance of PageRank based methods on both ODI and test matches teams ranking and interesting trends are found. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. The peristaltic flow of a carbon nanotubes (CNTs) water fluid investigate the effects of heat generation and magnetic field in permeable vertical diverging tube is studied. The mathematical formulation is presented, the resulting equations are solved exactly. The obtained expressions for pressure gradient, pressure rise, temperature, velocity profile are described through graphs for various pertinent parameters. The streamlines are drawn for some physical quantities to discuss the trapping phenomenon. It is observed that pressure gradient profile is decreasing by increase of Darcy number (Formula presented.), becausy Darcy number is due to porous permeable walls of the tube and when walls are porous fluid cannot easily flow in tube, so that will decreases the pressure gradient. © 2016 World Scientific Publishing Company

In this study, we apply Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) optimization to the problem of relay selection and transmit power allocation to selected relays in non-regenerative Relay Assisted Cognitive Radio Networks (RCRNs). The objective of our proposed scheme is to maximize the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) at the secondary destination while keeping the interference offered to the primary user below a certain threshold level. Hybrid evolutionary computational technique is developed to jointly estimate the amplitude, frequency, range, and 2D direction of arrival (elevation and azimuth angles) of near-field sources impinging on centrosymmetric cross array. Specifically, genetic algorithm is used as a global optimizer, whereas pattern search and interior point algorithms are employed as rapid local search optimizers. For this, a new multiobjective fitness function is constructed, which is the combination of mean square error and correlation between the normalized desired and estimated vectors. The performance of the proposed hybrid scheme is compared not only with the individual responses of genetic algorithm, interior point algorithm, and pattern search, but also with the existing traditional techniques. The proposed schemes produced fairly good results in terms of estimation accuracy, convergence rate, and robustness against noise. A large number of Monte-Carlo simulations are carried out to test out the validity and reliability of each scheme. © 2014 Fawad Zaman and Ijaz Mansoor Qureshi.

In this paper, we propose a structure for independent null steering by decoupling complex weights. It has the advantage of independent steering of (N - 1) nulls for a linear array having N elements and the complex weights are decoupled such that each weight corresponds to a particular null. For this purpose, the position of each zero of the array factor on the unit circle in the complex plane is controlled by the corresponding weight in the structure. It means that if a single jammer changes its position, only a single corresponding complex weight has to be recalculated, which reduces computational complexity. © IEICE 2011.

In this paper, we propose a method based on evolutionary computations for joint estimation of amplitude, Direction of Arrival and range of near field sources. We use memetic computing in which the problem starts with a global optimizer and ends up with a local optimizer for fine tuning. For this, we use Genetic algorithm and Simulated annealing as a global optimizer while Interior Point Algorithm as a rapid local optimizer. We set up Mean Square Error as a fitness evaluation function which defines an error between actual and estimated signal. This fitness function is optimum and is derived from Maximum likelihood principle. It requires only single snapshot to converge and does not require any permutations to link it with the angles found in the previous snapshot as in some other methods. The efficiency and reliability of the proposed scheme is tested on the basis of Monte-Carlo simulations and its inclusive statistical analysis.

The fully developed flow of an incompressible, thermodynamically compatible non-Newtonian magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) fluid in a pipe with porous space and partial slip is studied in this paper. Two illustrative models of viscosity namely (i) Constant model and (ii) Variable model are considered. Series solutions for nonlinear coupled partial differential equations are first developed and then convergence of the obtained series solutions has been discussed explicitly. Therecurrence formulae for finding the coefficients are also given in each case. Finally the role of pertinent parameters is illustrated graphically. © 2013 NSP. Natural Sciences Publishing Cor.

In this paper, we have addressed three major problems of uniform linear array in case of a sensor failure at any position. We assume that sensor position is known. The problems include increase in sidelobe levels, displacement of nulls and diminishing of null depth. The desired null depth is achieved by making the weight of symmetrical counterpart element passive. Genetic algorithm (GA) along with pattern search (PS) is used for reduction of sidelobe levels, and adjustment of nulls. Fitness function minimizing the error between the desired and estimated beam pattern along with null constraints is used. Simulation results for diversified scenarios have been given to demonstrate the validity and performance of the proposed algorithm.

This work contributes a novel approach for selection of reusable components based on Functional Requirements using SRSCS (Single Repository for Software Component Selection) mechanism. Different repositories are available for reusable components and to select the best qualifying component from those repositories, customers must visit all those one by one and will select the best qualifying component based on their requirements. SRSCS selects the reusable component based on the Functional Requirements, and as it is a black box process so the source, based on which the component is qualified, is the description of the component provided by the Owner Organization. SRSCS's main purpose is to provide a single point of the access to the customers from where they can select their required component instead of visiting all the repositories one by one. SRSCS extract information about the reusable component from different repositories, transform the description provided by the owner organization in order to classify information and remove the redundant information and store it on the single place i.e. SRSCS repository. SRSCS process consists of Extraction, Transformation, Loading and Component selection steps. In "Extraction" step information is extracted from the Owner Organization. In Transformation step, information is transformed, redundancy is removed and components are classified based on Type of the components. In Loading step the extracted information is loaded into the single SRSCS repository, and in the Component Selection step, customer sets the priorities of all information provided and the component is selected totally on the customer's choice. SRSCS has made the selection easy with improved time efficiency as compared to other approaches. All the components are available in one place and the results are accurate. © 2005-2011 JATI & LLS.
