X-C axis linkage was used to machine cold shock cast iron camshaft on the CNC8325 ultrahigh speed camshaft grinder. Orthogonal test were designed to analyze the influence of process parameters on the machining quality with range method and variance method. A nonlinear mapping relationship was established between the machining quality and process parameters by genetic neural network algorithm. Results showed that the genetic neural network algorithm was improved and that the grinding parameters were optimized. It could also shorten the machining time and improve the machining quality.
