To prepare guidelines for possible increases in entrance fees and efficient sustainable management of the Dalai Lake Protected Area (DLPA) in northeast China, the tourists' willingness to pay (WTP) for biodiversity conservation and environmental protection of the DLPA and the factors influencing the WTP were studied. Our findings may also be applicable to management of marine protected areas (MPAs). The data were collected from questionnaires, and the WTP was estimated using the contingent valuation method (CVM). A survey of 2000 randomly chosen tourists in the DLPA was conducted. To establish the relationship between the variables and the WTP, three logit and probit models for evaluating the probability of a positive WTP were constructed. The key findings were as follows: (1) The majority of the respondents (73.6%) were willing to accept a higher entrance fee for the purpose of biodiversity conservation and environmental protection, whereas the remaining 26.4% were unwilling to pay a higher entrance fee. The most common explanation given for the unwillingness to pay was that it was the government's responsibility to protect biodiversity and the environment. (2) Income level and the awareness of being in a PA were the most significant predictors of the tourists' WTP (p< 0.01). The educational level and the institutional trust were also significant predictors of the tourists' WTP (p< 0.05). (3) The median WTP was 71.08 RMB ($ 10.72) (Exchange rates at the time of the study: $ 1 = 6.63 RMB), and the current entrance fee represented 28.14% of this WTP. (4) Based on our findings, an entrance fee of 50 RMB ($ 7.54) is recommended, and the probability and advantages of a higher entrance fee are analyzed and discussed. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. Source

The research on service supply chain has attracted more and more focus from both academia and industrial community. In a service supply chain, the selection of supplier portfolio is an important and difficult problem due to the fact that a supplier portfolio may include multiple suppliers from a variety of fields. To address this problem, we propose a novel supplier portfolio selection method based on a well known machine learning approach, i.e., Ranking Neural Network (RankNet). In the proposed method, we regard the problem of supplier portfolio selection as a ranking problem, which integrates a large scale of decision making features into a ranking neural network. Extensive simulation experiments are conducted, which demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. M-Commerce website is a brand new business world. Which is constrained by factors such as users, mobile context, mobile device, mobile browser, Internet connection, and website services? Mobile context is the key element, and it is also the major difference between M-Commerce websites and traditional E-Commerce websites. An innovate strategy framework for M-Commerce website is proposed, including website goals definition, user researching, choosing the right approach, planning the navigation and information architecture, delivering appropriate content and building a user tracking system. This strategy is based on balancing the constraints and the enterprise's business goals. It is also a practical solution and can benefit enterprises to reduce the website construction difficulty. This article explicitly stated the concept of national value chain and "chain mode innovation" from the two perspectives: first is to organize capable enterprises embedded in the value chain of global industry, and urge them to stretch on both ends of the "smiling curve" to reach a higher level of cooperation, and then catch the leading position of the value chain; second is to construct technology innovation system that matches the development of related industries, cultivate the national prominent value chain of domestic companies, evolve the global value chain to a higher level through the continuous optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure; next is to explain function mechanism of "chain mode innovation" and framework of industrial policy mix, design and simulate the evolution process under the action of the policy, then evaluate the effect of the policy mix. Finally it is concluded that policy mix of "chain mode innovation" has the best effect. Source
