The depth of field of standard optical imaging system can be extended by introducing a pure phase pupil mask. A pupil mask which contains three zones with "0, π" phase is presented. By modulating the pupil of the imaging system, the Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) of the system has showed defocus-independent. Therefore, the loss of system's imaging information is avoided meanwhile the depth of the field is enlarged. Finally, the large depth of field system is simulated by Zemax as well as the traditional optical system. From the experimental results, we can draw the conclusion that the binary phase mask has successfully extended the depth of field of imaging system with a higher resolution.

A method for separating the original image and the conjugate image in the reconstruction of Fourier computer generated hologram (CGH) was studied. According to the analysis on the process of CGH reconstruction by Fourier transform, the method which put the original sampling points into a larger null matrix was used to separate the original image and conjugate image. After the fast Fourier transform with the new matrix, CGH was obtained by Burch coding, then a high pass filter was used to eliminate the influences of interference of background light on the visual impression when image was reconstructed. The degree of separation of the original image and the conjugate image of CGH produced by this method can be controlled with the size of the null matrix, the larger the null matrix, the greater the degree of separation. The experimental results show that the original image and conjugate image of CGH can separate when the null matrix is 4 times of the original size. But in order to filter the zero order light spot easily, the null matrix should be more than 4 times of the original size slightly. ©, 2014, The No.205 Research Institute of China Ordnance Industry. In this paper, a 2D size measurement model for regular parts based on structured Light sensor is built. This measurement system can be used for regular shape parts such as rectangle, circle, ring and so on. The key technology of this model are discussed. An experiment is designed and the result shows that the measurement system based on structured Light sensor inherited the advantages of both machine vision and structured Light. Furthermore, the model can be used widely to measure and detect the size of laminar type parts on assembling line. © 2011 IEEE.

Axicon, a useful optical element for generating non-diffracting beams, can extend the depth of field of imaging system, and the acquired images are insensitive to out of focus. However the images are not clear as well as low contrast. By analyzing the imaging characteristics of the non-diffracting imaging system and the properties of the point spread function, we present an image restoration method of multiple images fusion. It can reduce the influence of random noise and improve the high frequency part of the image. Experimental results show that this method can effectively enhance image detail and realize clear imaging within the large depth of field. © 2013 Elsevier B.V.

In order to implement the measurement of two-dimensional small angles, a method of modulating optical-path differences through a wedge is put forward, based on Michelson interference principle. By promoting the wedge with a voice coil motor, optical path that pass through the wedge will be changed. Then the optical-path differences on fixed points of the receiving screen will be cycle changed. Then the interference fringes will be carried out on periodical motion. Utilizing voice coil motor and right angle flexible hinge moving cycle, the relationship between the driving voltage and the displacement of wedge also has been analyzed detailedly. The experiment results show that there is a good linearity while the driving voltage is in the range 3.2v-7.5v. Modulating optical-path in this linear range, precise measurement of two-dimensional angles can be realized. © (2011) Trans Tech Publications.

In order to solve the problem of unreasonable hardware platform, difficult to extend functions as well as imperfect monitoring model in current drilling monitoring and alarming system, this paper presents an embedded controller for drilling engineering monitoring. The hardware of controller used ARM S3C2410 processor, and extended LCD, UART and Ethernet interface and so on. The operating system of controller adopted embedded Linux, the human-machine interface program was developed with Qt/E. Using "Signal & Slot" mechanism of Qt/E, the timer interrupt program and monitoring functions were achieved. Controller captures sensor data and issues control instructions through the UART, and communicates with a remote monitoring center through the Ethernet. In addition, the paper studied the modeling method of drilling accidents and implementation of automatic grouting function while lifting drill pipe.

Common profilometers cannot be used to measure the complex surfaces with large range. A cantilever profilometer with large range and high accuracy is presented in this paper. The profilometer is composed of inductive sensors, gratings and angle measurement structure, which are used to measure surface profile, movement displacement and angle of the cantilever beam separately. The angle measured by the invariant light-distance structure based on auto-collimation principle is used to compensate the Abbe error to ensure high measurement accuracy. For counting accurately, a method of resistance chain subdivision is designed to process the grating interference fringe signal. Experiment results show that the Abbe error can be compensate through the invariant light-distance structure based on auto-collimation principle. The designed profilometer can be used to measure complex morphology. © 2010 SPIE.
