A kind of powerlines extraction method based on airborne LiDAR point clouds data is introduced. Firstly, a TIN densification filter is used to separating the ground points and object points. Then, an angle filter is adopted for extracting powerlines points from object points. For the powerlines points, a 2D Hough transform method is used to separating these several lines. Finally, a hyperbolic cosine function model is used for the single line curve fitting. The experimental results show that the powerlines points could be relatively complete extracted from LiDAR data using this method, the accuracy of powerlines points extraction is 96.2% and the 3D reconstruction of powerlines corridor is also procured.
