discuss the biological function and regulation mechanism of curcumin in promoting human gastric carcinoma BGC-823 apoptosis. Conventional in virto culture in logarithmic phase gastric carcinoma BGC-823 cells; cells are divided into four groups: control group, low treatment group, middle treatment group and high treatment group, with curcumin concentration being 0 mg/L, 5 mg/L, 10 mg/L, and 20 mg/L, respectively. 24 hours after curcumin is treated, cell proliferation level and apoptosis rate are measured with MTT colorimetry and flow cytometry, Bax, Bcl-2 protein expression is measured with immunohistochemistry; mRNA of Caspase-3 is tested by means of PCR. MTT test indicates that curcumin can inhibit human gastric carcinoma BGC-823 cell proliferation, showing concentration dependency; flow cytometry shows that curcumin can effectively induce apoptosis, showing concentration dependency, where the apoptosis rate is 48.3% 24 hours after 20 mg/L curcumin is treated; immunohistochemistry test shows that curcumin treatment enables Bax expression level in human gastric carcinoma BGC-823 cells to go up, meanwhile, the Bcl-2 protein expression level to go down, besides, the mRNA expression level of Caspase-3 in cells increases through induction of curcumin. Curcumin has obvious inhibitory effect on human gastric carcinoma BGC-823 cell proliferation, showing concentration dependency to promote apoptosis. Such biological effect may be associated with activating Caspase-3 signal channel by activating Bax protein expression and inhibiting Bcl-2 protein. This study lays an important foundation for further discussing the mechanism of curcumin in inducing human gastric carcinoma BGC-823 apoptosis.

To observe the effects and mechanisms of Pongamia pinnata root flavonoids (PRF) on the experimental gastric ulcer induced by acetic acid and to study the mechanism of PRF on the quality of ulcer healing. The models were established by acetic acid erosion, the quality of ulcer healing of PRF on the model of gastric ulcer were observed. The contents of epidermal growth factor (EGF) in serum were determined by radioimmunoassay. The expression of EGF and transforming growth factor-alpha (TGF-alpha) were detected by immunohistochemistry (SP). PRF significantly inhibited ulcerative formation induced by acetic acid (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). PRF could significantly increase the EGF and TGF-alpha (P < 0.05, P < 0.01) expression of para-ulcer mucosa tissue and improve the EGF contents in blood serum (P < 0.05, P < 0.01). PRF increases the contents of EGF in serum and the expression of EGF and TGF-alpha in the tissue around gastric ulcer which might be one of possible mechanisms that PRF improves quality of ulcer healing.

This paper introduces the concepts of (α,β)-fuzzy (implicative, positive implicative, fantastic) filters and (β̄,ᾱ)-fuzzy (implicative, positive implicative, fantastic) filters of BL-algebras, where α,β∈∈γ,qδ,∈γ∧qδ, ∈γ∨qδ, ᾱ,β̄∈∈γ̄, qδ̄,∈γ̄∧qδ̄,∈γ̄∨ qδ̄, α≠∈γ∧qδ and β̄≠∈ γ̄∧qδ̄, and some related properties are investigated. Special attention is paid to (∈γ̄, ∈γ̄∨qδ̄)-fuzzy (implicative, positive implicative, fantastic) filters and (∈γ̄, ∈γ̄∨qδ̄)-fuzzy (implicative, positive implicative, fantastic) filters which are generalizations of (∈,∈∨q)-fuzzy (implicative, positive implicative, fantastic) filters and (∈̄, ∈̄∨q̄)-fuzzy (implicative, positive implicative, fantastic) filters studied in Ma et al. (2008, 2009) [34,35]. It also points out that Examples 3.1.2, 3.1.9, 3.2.2, 3.2.9 and 3.3.9 in Ma et al. (2009) [35] are incorrect. © 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

By means of ∈-soft sets and q-soft sets, some characterizations of (implicative, positive implicative and fantastic) filteristic soft B L-algebras are investigated. Finally, we prove that a soft set is an implicative filteristic soft B L-algebra if and only if it is both a positive implicative filteristic soft B L-algebra and a fantastic filteristic soft B L-algebra. © 2009 Elsevier Ltd. With the dielectric function derived from the chromohydrodynamic approach, we investigate the polarized charge distribution induced by a fast parton traveling through the viscous quarkgluon plasma. Our results show that viscous effects on the induced color charge density are speed dependent. When the fast parton moves with a speed less than the average speed of plasmon in the quarkgluon plasma, shear viscosity has a trivial impact on the color charge wake. While the fast parton speed is larger than the plasmon speed, viscous effects modify the strength and structure of the induced charge wake significantly. With the increase of η/s, shear viscosity enhances the oscillation of the induced charge density, but makes the cone angle formed by the polarized charges less remarkable. © 2012 IOP Publishing Ltd.
