Fresh autologous blood was injected into the cisterna magna to establish the model of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SSAH) in the rabbit groups. The neuron apoptosis was observed by optical microscope and eletron microscope, and determination in apoptoic index. Observation by histopathology, neurons show tardive detriment, as cell body pyknosis, cytoplasm and nucleus hyperchromasis, karyoplasms uneven, fraction intranuclear caryotin agglomeration; even caryolysis, bioblast engorgement, crista resorbed. Contrast to blank groups, apoptotic index increased obviously in SAH groups, and statistical significant difference was seen among groups (all P < 0.05). Apoptosis plays an important role in delayed neuronal death after subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Objective: To determine the level of perforin (PFN) in tuberculous and malignant pleural effusions and to explore the relationship between PFN and pleural effusion micro-environmental immune state. Methods: Sixty inpatients' pleural effusions had been collected from September 2007 to June 2008. Among these samples thirty were malignant, thirty were tuberculosis, the levels of PFN in these samples were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Ten samples were obtained at random from both tuberculous and malignant effusion samples, CD3 +CD8 + T lymphocytes were isolated, and PFN expression on cell surface was detected by flow cytometry. Results: The PFN levels and cell PFN expression rate in malignant pleural effusions were obviously lower than in tuberculous effusions. Conclusion: PFN may play an important role in the formation of malignant effusion micro-environmental immune state, and the determination of PFN may have a very important clinical significance in the differential diagnosis of pleural effusions.

Objective: To compare the curative effects of neurosurgical and neurological treatment on severe basal ganglia hemorrhage, and to propose the operation indications. Methods: One hundred cases according with JinGu level IV b and V were treated with operation or non-operation. All cases were accorded with the standard of hypertensive severe basal ganglion and thalamus hematoma level in CT imaging. SPSS 10.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results: The total case - fatality rate in operation group and non-operation group was 62%(62/100) and 92%(92/100), respectively (χ2 =23.744, P = 0.000). The total case-fatality rate of III - IV level in CT imaging group and I - II level in CT imaging group was 84.21% (32/38) and 48.39% (30/62), respectively (P = 0.000). The total case - fatality rate in craniotomy operation group and non-craniotomy operation group was 54.41% (37/68) and 78.13% (25/32), respectively (χ2 = 7.920, P = 0.048). Conclusion: Patients with JinGu level IV b of severe basal ganglia hemorrhage should be operated actively. Patients in JinGu level V group should be operated cautiously referred with the following factors: age (< 60 years old); brain hernia occurrence time (onset time > 12 h); level in CT imaging (I - II level); systemic disease [no major visceral (heart, lung, liver, kidney) disease and diabetes].

The title complex [Ni (DTPB)H2Cl]Cl (BF4)2·4H2O (DTPB=1, 1, 4, 7, 7-pentakis(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylmethyl)-1, 4, 7-triazaheptane) has been synthesized and structurally characterized, and its superoxide dismutase (SOD) catalytic activity was investigated by UV spectra. The results showed that the title complex exhibited distorted octahedron geometry, it can inhibit pyrogallol oxidation, IC50 of the complex was 29.8 mg·L-1, and its SOD activity was affected by reaction temperatures and pH values. A thioflavin T-based fluorescent probe was synthesized by using o-aminobenzenethiol and copper reagent as raw materials. The results showed that it exhibited relatively high sensitivity and selectivity to Hg2+, and the common metal ions hardly interfered in the determination. The probe could be used for the visual detection of Hg2+ and applied to image intracelluar Hg2+ in living Hela cells. © 2014 Chinese Chemical Society & SIOC, CAS.

The title complex [Cu(BBA)(NO3)](NO3)2 (BBA = [2-(benzotriazol-1-yl)ethyl][2-(benzotriazol-2-yl)ethyl] amine) has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Its crystallizes in triclinic, space group P- 1 with a = 10.003(3), b = 11.399(3), c = 18.186(5) Å, α = 77.184(4), β = 88.573(5), γ = 72.306(5)°, V = 1924.4(9) Å3, Z = 2, F(000) = 894, D c = 1.493 Mg/m3, Mr = 865.31, μ = 0.644 mm-1, the final R = 0.0733 and wR = 0.1722 for 4349 observed reflections with I > 2σ(I). Its polyphenol oxidase (PPO) mimic activity was studied spectroscopically by using pyrogallol as the substrate. The results showed that the kinetics of pyrogallol catalyzed by the complex obeyed the Michaelis-Mentent equation, showing that the PPO catalytic activity of the complex increased with increasing the reaction temperature and pH values. A dinuclear copper complex [Cu2LCl2](ClO 4)2 (L = 2,2-(piperazine-1,4-Diyl)bis- (N,N-Bis(pyridine-2-ylmethyl)ethan-1-Amine)) has been synthesized and structurally characterized. It crystallizes in triclinic, space group P1 with a = 8.5707(9), b = 10.5083(12), c = 11.4878(13) Å, a = 76.197(2), ß = 88.271(2), γ = 87.855(2)°, V = 1003.81(19) Å3 Z = 1, F(000) = 478, Dc = 1.544 Mg/m3 Mr = 933.60, μ = 1.383 mm-1, the final R = 0.0669 and wR = 0.1486 for 3675 observed reflections with I > 2σ(I). Its catechol oxidase mimic activity was studied spectroscopically by using 3,5-Di-tert-Butylcatechol (3,5-DTBC) as the substrate. The results showed that the kinetics ofcatechol catalyzed by the complex accorded with the Michaelis-Mentent equation, and the catechol oxidase catalytic activity of the complex increased with increasing the pH values.

A zinc-complex [Zn2(L)Cl3]2[ZnCl4] · CH3CN CH3OH · 3H2O (L=1,1,4,7,7-Pentakis (2-pyridyl-methyl) diethylenetriamine) has been synthesized and structurally characterized, and its catalytic activity was investigated by using p-nitrophenyl phosphate(PNPP) as the substrate. The results showed that one zinc) of the complex was coordinated in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, and the coordination geometry around another zinc was distorted octahedron. Its catalytic hydrolysis of N was consistent with Michaelis-Mentent model. Several kinetic parameters Vmax, Km and Kcat were examined under different conditions, and maximal catalytic activity of zinc(II)-complex was observed at a temperature of 30 °C and pH=8.0.
