Necrolytic migratory erythema (NME) is a disease included among the mucocutaneous paraneoplastic syndromes, commonly associated with glucagonoma. Several cases have been described without this association and then it is referred as pseudoglucagonoma syndrome. This paper describes the case of a patient with clinical and histological diagnosis of NME; malignancy was ruled out, so was is attributed to diffuse hepatic disease as the only possible association. The patient responded to systemic and topical steroid treatment. We consider very important to perform a broad diagnostic approach in this patients to exclude any associated pathology, not only glucagonoma.
