Assessment of information booklets to keep patients better informedMuch progress has been made since the introduction of law n° 2002-303 of 4 th March 2002 relating to patients' rights and the quality of the healthcare system. 2011 is the year of patients and patients' rights, and a recent European study showed that more effort needs to be made in particular in terms of the right to information. The information booklet seems to be the ideal tool to meet this need. In 2009, during the 11th International Days for Hospital and Healthcare Quality (JIQHS), a jury assessed more than 50 booklets, analysing the form and content, required criteria and "quality" criteria, thereby suggesting areas for reflection to refine the communication.
