Source Type

To provide a power supply control mechanism that can switch an operation mode of a device at users desired optional timing while achieving reduction in size and weight of an electronic device. For this reason, the invention disclosed in the present application includes a power supply control unit that includes a detection terminal and controls a power supply from a power source to a driving circuit, a push switch that can be operated by a user, and a signal generation unit that operates with a power supplied from the power source. The push switch can change a voltage to be applied to the detection terminal according to an operation performed by the user. The signal generation unit outputs a detection signal to be applied to the detection terminal, and stops the output of the detection signal when the voltage of the detection terminal satisfies a predetermined condition. The power supply control unit controls the power supply by detecting that the push switch is operated and the detection signal is stopped on the basis of a change in the voltage applied to the detection terminal, thereby switching an operation mode of a device between at least two modes of a normal operation mode and a sleep mode.

A more favorably visibility-improved video is obtained. A device includes: a video input unit; a first Retinex processing unit which performs a first Retinex process on a video inputted from the video input unit; a second Retinex processing unit which performs a second Retinex process, which is different from the first Retinex process in a method, on the video inputted from the video input unit; a video composing unit which can compose a video processed by the first Retinex processing unit and a video processed by the second Retinex processing unit in accordance with a feature of the video inputted from the video input unit; and a display unit which can display an output video of the video composing unit.

A recording apparatus, including: a photographing unit which picks up a moving picture and a still picture; a first encoder which encodes the moving picture and the still picture by a first encoding method; a second encoder which encodes the still picture by a second encoding method which is different from the first encoding method; and a recorder which records a file of the moving picture encoded by the first encoding method, a file of the still picture encoded by the first encoding method and a file of the still picture encoded by the second encoding method, on a recording medium, wherein both of the file of the still picture encoded by the first encoding method and the file of the still picture encoded by the second encoding method, are based on one still picture picked up with a single photographing.

The present invention is intended to permit both real-time display of a picture represented by a non-compressed video signal on a television and display of a picture represented by a compressed video signal at any desired time by simultaneously transmitting the compressed video signal and non-compressed video signal via one interface. An STB packetizes a compressed video signal, and multiplexes the compressed video signal and a blanking signal combined with a non-compressed video signal. Thus, both the video signals are transmitted simultaneously. A picture represented by the non-compressed video signal is displayed on a television in real time. The compressed video signal is stored in a storage medium incorporated in the television, read at any users desired time, and decoded so that a picture represented by the compressed video signal can be viewed at the users desired time.

A magnetic recording medium of the present invention is a magnetic recording medium including a non-magnetic substrate; a non-magnetic layer that is formed on one of principal surfaces of the non-magnetic substrate and contains a non-magnetic powder, a binder, and a lubricant; and a magnetic layer that is formed on a principal surface of the non-magnetic layer opposite to the non-magnetic substrate and contains a magnetic powder and a binder. The magnetic powder has an average particle size between 10 nm and 35 nm inclusive. The lubricant is migratable to the magnetic layer and forms a lubricant layer on a surface of the magnetic layer when a pressure is applied to the magnetic layer. When spacing of the surface of the magnetic layer before and after washing the lubricant with n-hexane is measured with a TSA (Tape Spacing Analyzer), the value of the spacing after washing is 3 to 10 nm, and the value of the spacing before washing is 1 to 5 nm smaller than the value of the spacing after washing.

A wireless charging module includes: a power receiver (2) having a power receiving resonant circuit (4) composed of a power receiving coil and a resonant capacitor; and a rechargeable battery (5) to which output power of the power receiver is supplied. A rectification circuit (20) converts, to DC power, AC power generated in the power receiving resonant circuit through electromagnetic induction between a power transmitting coil of a power transmitter (1) and the power receiving coil, so as to charge the rechargeable battery. The wireless charging module further includes: a capacity detection circuit (24) for detecting a remaining capacity of the rechargeable battery; and a power reception controller (25) for controlling an operation of the capacity detection circuit. The power reception controller can operate the capacity detection circuit with switching between a high-accuracy measurement mode and a low-accuracy measurement mode, the high-accuracy measurement mode detecting the remaining capacity with high accuracy, and the low-accuracy measurement mode detecting the remaining capacity with accuracy lower than that of the high-accuracy measurement mode. The capacity detection circuit is operated in the high-accuracy measurement mode in charging of the rechargeable battery and the low-accuracy measurement mode in discharging of the rechargeable battery. Thus, the remaining capacity of the rechargeable battery can be detected effectively in a power saving manner.

According to the present invention, a projection type image display apparatus enables control of a large amount of light masking through a light-masking unit while maintaining a uniform illumination distribution in an area to be illuminated by the illumination light. The apparatus uses two array lenses on which lens cells are arranged in matrix form, where light-masking unit masks the array lens installed on the light source side in their particular area. The light-masking unit adjusts the amount of light emitted from the light source. The light-masking area of lens cells adjacent to lens cells closest to an optical axis is made smaller than the light-masking area of other cells.
