The purpose of the present invention is to suppress the contact between the wrap tooth tip and the tooth bottom by enlarging the tooth bottom step, and to reduce the loss owing to the gap as a result of enlarging the tooth bottom step. The fixed scroll includes a fixed scroll-side flat plate and a fixed-side wrap standing on one surface of the fixed-side plate while retaining the spiral shape. The orbiting scroll includes an orbiting-side plate and an orbiting-side wrap standing on one surface of the orbiting-side plate while retaining the spiral shape. The orbiting-side wrap orbits with respect to the fixed scroll while being in mesh with the fixed side wrap to form a compression chamber. Each of the fixed-side plate and the orbiting-side plate has the step on the tooth bottom at the inner periphery deeper than the step on the tooth bottom at the outer periphery. The step at the outer or the inner periphery, which is formed on the tooth bottom of the orbiting-side plate, has the depth smaller than the one on the tooth bottom of the fixed-side plate.

An object is to enable suppression of degradation of reliability by supporting a flange portion of a crankshaft with a bearing while downsizing a scroll compressor by reducing the size of the flange portion of the crankshaft. A scroll compressor includes: a fixed scroll fixed to a frame; an orbiting scroll forming a compression chamber by performing an orbital motion with respect to the fixed scroll; an electric motor that drives the orbiting scroll via the crankshaft; and a bearing part provided on the lower side from the flange portion of the crankshaft that rotatably supports a main shaft part of the crankshaft. The scroll compressor furthers has a thrust stopper, provided between the flange portion and the bearing part, in contact with the flange portion on the upper side and in contact with the bearing part on the lower side. Assuming that the outer diameter of the flange portion

A screw compressor in which it is possible to achieve size reduction and reduce the oil rate and a chiller unit equipped with the screw compressor are provided. In the screw compressor, an oil separator includes: an outer cylinder; an inner cylinder positioned inside the outer cylinder; and an introducing flow path that lets refrigerant discharged from a compression working chamber flow in so that the refrigerant swirls to the circumferential direction on the inner wall surface of the outer cylinder. The upper end portion of the inner cylinder is held, by the oil separator and the outer wall of the inner cylinder is thereby held independently of the inner wall of the outer cylinder. The diameter of the inner wall of the outer cylinder is so configured that the diameter is gradually reduced along the swirl flow oath in which refrigerant that flowed in through the introducing flow path swirls. The refrigerant that flowed in through the introducing passage swirls and goes down along the swirl flow path which is the inner wall of the outer cylinder and is thereby separated into gas refrigerant and oil. Thereafter, the separated gas refrigerant flows from the lower end portion of the inner cylinder into the inner cylinder and goes up; and the separated oil flows down along the inner wall surface of the outer cylinder.

A suction chamber and the oil injection port are linked, under a certain range of revolution angle, via a suction working chamber formed in the radially outer side by a orbiting scroll outer curve and a fixed scroll inner curve under a certain range of revolution angle. An opening of the oil injection port is provided on a bottom surface between teeth of the fixed scroll so that the suction working chamber formed, in a radially inner side, by a orbiting scroll inner curve and a fixed scroll outer curve and the suction chamber are positioned not to be linked with the oil injection port.

The lap shapes of a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll are configured in an asymmetric tooth profile. In the bed plate of an orbiting scroll, a fluid effluence channel communicating with an external line side compression room of an orbiting scroll lap and another fluid effluence channel communicating with an internal line side compression room are formed, and the outlet side opening of each fluid effluence channel opens in the lap tooth bottom of the orbiting scroll, and inlet side openings are formed in a face of the bed plate that is in sliding contact with the bed plate face of the fixed scroll. In the face of the bed plate, a communicating section control groove that lets the inlet side openings of the two fluid effluence channels and the back pressure room intermittently communicate with each other.
