The main motivation behind this paper is to study some structural properties of a non-associative structure (LA-semigroup) in terms of fuzzy sets as it hasn't attracted much attention compared to associative structures. An LA-semigroup can be referred to as a non-associative semigroup, as the main difference between a semigroup and an LA-semigroup is the switching of an associative law. In this paper, we introduce and characterize fuzzy (0, 2)-ideals, fuzzy (0, 2)-bi-ideals and fuzzy (1, 2)-ideals of an LA-semigroup. We give a new and alternate definition for a strongly regular element of a unitary LA-semigroup and show novel conditions under which a strongly regular LA-semigroup becomes an LA ∗ ∗-semigroup. These characterizations do not exist in literature before this work. As an application of our results we get characterizations of a strongly regular LA-semigroup in terms of fuzzy one-sided ideals and fuzzy bi-ideals. Finally we introduce and investigate the properties of fuzzy inner-unitary LA-subsemigroups in an LA ∗ ∗-semigroup. These concepts will help in verifying the existing characterizations and will help in achieving new and generalized results in future works. © 2017 IOS Press and the authors. All rights reserved.

The 2-Aryl-6,8-dibromo-4-chloroquinazolines derived from the 2-Aryl-6,8- dibromoquinazolin-4(3H)-ones were subjected to the Sonogashira cross-coupling with terminal acetylenes at room temperature to afford novel 2-Aryl-6,8-dibromo-4- (alkynyl)quinazoline derivatives. Further transformation of the 2-Aryl-6,8-dibromo-4- (phenylethynyl)quinazolines via Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling with arylboronic acids occurred without selectivity to afford the corresponding 2,6,8-triaryl-4- (phenylethynyl)quinazolines. The absorption and emission properties of these polysubstituted quinazolines were also determined.

The multi-component reaction of 2-acetylthiophene with aromatic aldehydes and either malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate gave the pyran derivatives 4a–4f and pyridine derivatives 5a–5f. On the other hand, the reaction of the 2-acetylthiophene with elemental sulfur and either malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate gave the thiophene derivatives 6a and 6b; respectively. Compounds 6a and 6b underwent a series of heterocyclic reactions to give thiazole and thiophene derivatives. All the products were assessed for antitumor activity towards human cancer human gastric cancer (NUGC and HR), human colon cancer (DLD1), human liver cancer (HA22T and HEPG2), human breast cancer (MCF), nasopharyngeal carcinoma (HONE1) cell lines. Compounds 4e, 4f, 5e, 5f, 7b, 8b, 10e, 10f, 11e, 11f, 14d-f, 15d-f, 16a,b and 18b exhibited optimal cytotoxic effect against cancer cell lines, with IC50’s in the nM range. Moreover, 7b, 10e, 14d, 15e and 16b showed no toxicity against shrimp larvae. Anti-proliferative cell activity against cancer cell lines of the most potent compounds showed that compounds 5f and 10e achieved the highest activities among the tested compounds. © 2016 Springer Science+Business Media New York

This paper presents a software program for automatic circuit and chip synthesis. The proposed program is suitable for automatic design and Layout generation for the repeated modules circuits. The program outcome is a netlist file compatible with spice for simulation. The proposed program can be employed for automatic full custom chip layout design. The developed system is started form the low level circuit hierarchy level (bottom to post). The matrix-ROM system is an example of repeated cells circuit (0/MOST & one/no MOST). An audio signal can be stored in the ROM by processing it to digital form (1's & 0's) with signal conditioning. The netlist file is generated by using the proposed program and simulated. The simulation result is verified with the original circuit response. The proposed tool then generates a silicon chip layout file from the audio binary signal file automatically. © 2015 IEEE.

Casting technique was employed for preparation of pristine PMMA films and films that doped with different Azo-dye contents. UV/Vis. (200-2500 nm) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were used to investigate optical properties of prepared samples. XRD spectra revealed some modifications, significantly sensitive to the doping level. Spectral absorption analysis showed presence of two absorption bands at 308 and 475 nm which attributed to the φ - φ* and n - φ* transition of chromophore groups. The absorption coefficient and optical energy gap (Eg) have been obtained from the absorption edge in 200 - 900 nm range. It was found that Eg decreases with increasing the doping levels. The width of the tail of localized states in the band gap (δE) was evaluated using the Urbach edge method. Some optical parameters were determined from the reflection and transmission spectra in the spectral range 200-2500 nm. The dependence of the refractive index on the doping level has been discussed. A large variation in refractive index correlated to dye concentrations suggests the applicability of the studied system in optical devices.

In order to achieve the results that meet the specifications of a given project, like engineering surveys and deformation measurements, the knowledge of the reliability and accuracy of the surveying equipment is inevitable. Precise digital levels and reflectorless total stations are used nowadays for several applications in geodetic engineering due to their highly accurate and fast measurements in an automated measuring process. A shortcoming is that they give less accurate measurements in some cases of observations. There are several sources of errors which have an effect on the accuracy of staff reading during digital leveling such as the effect of sun, and therefore have to be investigated. The quality and accuracy of measurements of electronic surveying instruments may be affected by the capacity of instrument battery which may be worked for long time in the field. This paper investigates the effect of sun on the accuracy of digital level measurements and investigates also the effect of battery capacity on the accuracy of total station and digital levels observations. The paper is performed also to find out the effect of inclined angle of reflecting surface, its colors and types on the accuracy of reflectorless total station measurements which have a great influence on monitoring the deformation of cylindrical and domical structures. The results of practical measurements, calculations and analysis of the interesting tests using least squares theory and computer programs are also presented. © 2011 Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University. Condensation of 2,4-diacarboethoxy-5-hydroxy-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-5-methyl cyclohexanone (1) with equimolar amounts of hydrazine hydrate and phenyl hydrazine afforded the corresponding 2H-indazole-5-carboxylates 2a and 2b, respectively. Coupling of 2 with diazotized aromatic amines furnished the corresponding azo compounds 3a-n. When compound 1 was subjected to the Japp-Klingemann reaction in alkaline medium with diazotized aromatic amines furnished the corresponding hydrazones 4a-g. The treatment of 4a-g with phenyl hydrazine in acetic acid allows the isolation of arylhydrazono derivatives 5a-g. The structures of the dyes were established using analytical and spectral data. Evaluation of the technical properties and color assessment of the dyes were done.

Thermal properties of the PVC/PMMA loaded conductive polypyrrole composites were analyzed by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). A decrease in the glass transition temperatures Tg with the conductive PPy concentration content reveals the increase of segmental motion. Dielectric properties of these composites were studied in the frequency range between 100 Hz and 5 MHz at room temperature for various weight percentage of conductive PPy. The x-ray diffractograms of all the samples ensures the amorphous nature of the composites.

The reaction of either cyclohexanone or cyclopentanone with cyanoacetylhydrazine and elemental sulfur gave the 2-aminocycloalkeno[b] thiophene derivatives 3a and 3b, respectively. The latter compounds reacted with either aromatic benzaldehydes or active methylene reagents to give the Schiff's bases 5a-d and the pyrazole derivatives 7a-d and 9a-d, respectively. On the other hand, the reaction of 3-oxo-N-p-tolylbutanamide (10) with either of malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate gave the thiophene derivatives 13a and 13b, respectively. Compounds 13a,b were subjected to a series of heterocyclization reactions to give heterocyclic derivatives. Their cytotoxicity against the three human tumor cells lines, namely breast adenocarcinoma (MCF-7), non-small cell lung cancer (NCI-H460) and CNS cancer (SF-268) together against the normal human cell line namely the normal fibroblast cells WI 38 were measured.

Random and oriented fibers of poly (3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) and their blends were manufactured using electrospinning using a co-solvent. The kind and the concentration of the co-solvent affected the diameter of electrospun fibers. The morphology, thermal analysis, and crystalline structure of electrospun fibers was studied using polarized optical microscop (POM), Differential scanning colametry (DSC), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Wide angle X-ray diffraction (WAXD), and FT-IR analysis. The diameter of the electrospun fibers decreases with increasing collector speed for the blends compared to pure PHB, which are about 6 μm in diameter. The fibers obtained from blends reduce to 2 μm. The aligned electrospun fiber mats obtained from pure PHB showed no signs of necking at different take-up speeds, but the blends show multiple necking. It was found by FT-IR that the peak intensity at 1379 cm-1 was lower by take up speed than in casting films; this peak is sensitive to crystallinity of PHB. The addition of polyanilines (PANIs) to (PHB) with a plasticizer decreases the diameter of the electrospun fiber. © 2016 by the authors.
