In this paper, the micro hardness bending strength abrasion ratio impact resistance and turning performances of PcBN Mith Si 3N 4-Ni hinder xere studied. The effect of the composite binder and the dopant content on such properties Mere discussed. The microstructure and phase composition of PcBN Mere investigated by scanning electron microscope ( SEM ) and Xay diffraction ( XRD) . The results showed that cBN grita were well Metted by the composite hinder under high temperature; the sintering of PcBN wa in good condition; formationh of a number of neM phases Mere observed. The prehence of Si 3 Ni 4 effectively improved the performances of PcBN. The Si 3Ni 4 Mhiskers, especiall) Nioated Si 3Ni 4 whiskers ,increased the impact resistance and bending strength of PcBN. The best surface roughness of orkpiece niacluned with tile above PcBN turning tool attained 0.8 μm. © 1994-2011 China Academic Journal Electronic Publishing House.
