Effects of high-voltage electrostatic field(HVEF) and ice-temperature on browning and quality of lotus root (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn) were investigated. The results showed that treatment with HVEF and storage at ice-temperature significantly inhibited the browning process of lotus root during storage. After stored for 28 d, the brown index was 7 (A410×10) and the decay index was 15%, significantly lower than those of control, and the products could maintain higher firmness (3 kgf/cm2) and soluble solids content (4%). In addition, after a 28-day storage, the respiratory intensity, ethanol content and total bacterial count were 50 mg/kg·H, 18 nmol/g and 5 CFU/g, respectively, which were significantly lower than those of the control. The results proved that the treatment could significantly inhibit the respiration rate, ethanol accumulation, microorganism growth and decay incidence.

Momordica charantia L. Var. abbreviata Ser. protein hydrolysates (MCPH) were prepared by enzymatic hydrolysis using Alcalase 2.4L. The acute hypoglycemic effect of MCPH at different degree of hydrolysis (DH) was investigated in alloxan-induced diabetic mice. The result showed the MCPH at 11% DH had the highest hypoglycemic effect. In the long-term study, repeated oral administration of MCPH at 11% DH for 28 days significantly reduced the fasting blood glucose (FBG) level, serum total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) levels in diabetic mice. At the same time, MCPH markedly increased body weight, serum high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) after 28 days of treatment. © (2012) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

On this basis, the theoretical curriculum system has been reorganized, and the teaching program have been revised. The development target of teacher training has been determined, and the teaching methods and means have been enriched. And even the construction mode of practice teaching base has been explored. Recently, there are some concerns in auction duration and bid arrivals in study of online auctions. In online auctions, seller selects duration, and the bid arrivals pattern is deemed to the indicator of bidding strategies and behaviors of bidders. The best known phenomenon in bid arrival is the late bidding, which describe the following bidding strategy used frequently by many bidders: bidders tends to place bid as late as possible. Noticed there is a void in growing body of literature on online auctions in comparison study of participants' behavior across similar but different websites, we sampled eBay auctions from several global websites simultaneously and compared the duration distributions and bid arrivals patterns across these websites. The statistical results indicate that the comparison study is meaningful. Finally, we imply that more advanced data mining tools are needed in analysis of online auction data in further research. © 2011 IEEE.

Cloud computing is a new subfield in computer science that has been revealed a radical novel picture of computing by shifting the responsibility to install and maintain hardware and basic computational service away from local computer of the cloud vendor. According to the effect of fog from images, a new defogging methodfor image based on depth region segmentation is proposed in this paper. This method reasonably applies the fuzzy cluster analysis thinking, Construct the edge characteristic vector based on multiresolution wavelet. It has achieved the depth region segmentation image based on closed boundary of the target object in the scene, thus attaining the effectively enhanced contrast by the equalizing transform of each histogram in the same depth. Experiment results show that this algorithm can efficiently improve the degradation of image and enhance the clearness of image. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.
