Forest fire is the most important disturbance factor in forest vegetation regions, and lightning-caused forest fires is an important component of it. Frequent lightning-caused forest fires had become a strong pressure and a great menace of the local economic development. With GIS technique, SPSS statistics software, and matlab, Spatiotemporal distribution of lightning-caused forest fires in Daxinganling, Heilongjiang Province, between 1966 and 2006 was analyzed. The results show that from 1966 to 2006, the region experienced 560 lightning-caused forest fires. The peak period occurs in June of a year, and 15 - 16 Oclock is highty occurring time interval, 24a period is displayed obviously, and 12a, 2a periods are also relatively clear. Meanwhile, the centroid of fire scenes showes band-shaped and has a trend of migration southeastward. This study can gives a theoretical reference to the work of forest fire prevention. Source
