The recent technology of the single-nucleotide-polymorphism (SNP) array makes it possible to genotype millions of SNP markers on genome, which in turn requires to develop fast and efficient method for fine-scale quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping. The single-marker association (SMA) is the simplest method for fine-scale QTL mapping, but it usually shows many false-positive signals and has low QTL-detection power. Compared with SMA, the haplotype-based method of Meuwissen and Goddard who assume QTL effect to be random and estimate variance components (VC) with identity-by-descent (IBD) matrices that inferred from unknown historic population is more powerful for fine-scale QTL mapping; furthermore, their method also tends to show continuous QTL-detection profile to diminish many false-positive signals. However, as we know, the variance component estimation is usually very time consuming and difficult to converge. Thus, an extremely fast EMF (Expectation-Maximization algorithm under Fixed effect model) is proposed in this research, which assumes a biallelic QTL and uses an expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm to solve model effects. The results of simulation experiments showed that (1) EMF was computationally much faster than VC method; (2) EMF and VC performed similarly in QTL detection power and parameter estimations, and both outperformed the paired-marker analysis and SMA. However, the power of EMF would be lower than that of VC if the QTL was multiallelic. © 2012 Springer-Verlag. Source

The international universal calculations of the time for evacuation have their own features and limits and their effective areas have to be noticed. This study analyzes different ways to calculate the evacuation time, according to the relative indexes and rules for evacuation of Chinese sports stadium. According to the specific calculation in a university, it has safety hazards. As bicycle sport equipment, a sport bike needs a speed and distance measuring device, due to the characteristic of road cycling, thereby mastering the state of motion. According to external conditions such as temperature, wind speed, the bike can make the appropriate adjustment to achieve the best movement effect. The bicycle speed odometer is a major accessibility tool that satisfies with needs of the people with fast development. This study elaborated a bike speed odometer design based on Hall element, taking AT89C52 single chip as the core, measuring speed with A44E Hall sensor, to finish the bike mileage/speed measurement and statistics by displaying bike mileage and speed in real time. By using the Hall elements, the hardware of speed odometer input the number of pulse of per circle into the single-chip computer system. Then the signal processed by the single-chip computer displays. The software is programmed with assembly language and modular design idea. The design of the hardware circuit is simple and the subroutine has universal property, which fully meet the design requirements and possess a wide range of application and dissemination value. © Maxwell Scientific Organization, 2013. In the process of the rice germination, temperature control is the key. Due to the accelerating seed germination system belongs to a complex nonlinear, large time delay and multivariable, it is difficult to establish the exact mathematical relationship model. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, we established the model based on RBF neural network, and used genetic algorithm to optimize the parameters of the neural network. In order to realize the accurate control of temperature and ensure the quality of rice sprouting, Fuzzy-PID control method can adjusts the parameters of PID and effectively improve the uniform distribution of temperature in the germinating box. The 3D graphics of temperature distribution obtained by MATLAB can show effectiveness of the method. Finally, the control strategy and system model improving the rice budding rate and evenness of emergence, are verified by experimental verification. © 2016 SERSC. Source

To investigate the effect of berberine hydrochloride (BBR) on the proliferation, apoptosis, TNF-α, IL-2 and IFN-γ secretion of splenocytes in mice. The splenocytes isolated from the spleen of mice in a sterile environment were pretreated with BBR at the concentrations of 1, 2, 4 μg/mL for 60 min. Thereafter, the cells were stimulated with polyclonal activators ConA and cultured for 24, 48, 72 h, respectively. MTT assay was used to detect the proliferation of cells; flow cytometry was performed to detect the splenocyte apoptosis according to the fluorescence intensity of the splenocytes stained with PI and annexin V-FITC; the concentrations of TNF-α, IL-2 and IFN-γ in the culture supernate was quantificationally analyzed by the ELISA. Compared with the control group, BBR within the concentration range above significantly inhibited the splenocyte proliferation, TNF-α, IL-2 and IFN-γ secretion of the splenocytes activated by ConA in a dose- and time-dependent manner (P<0.05), but didn't significantly cause the apoptosis of splenocytes (P>0.05). BBR can have immunosuppressive influence on the splenocytes in mice and may act as a potential immunosuppressive drug. Source
