In order to improve the prediction accuracy of BP neural network model for chaotic time series, a prediction method for chaotic time series of optimized BP neural network based on genetic algorithm(GA) is presented. The GA is used to optimize the weights and thresholds of BP neural network, and the BP neural network is trained to search for the optimal solution. The efficiency of the proposed prediction method is tested by the simulation of several typical nonlinear systems and time series of real traffic flow. The simulation results show that the proposed method has better fitting ability and higher accuracy.

BACKGROUND: In order to improve the antioxidant and anti-fatigue capacities of whey protein for wider utilization, it was hydrolyzed by chymotrypsin (EC 188.8.131.52) to produce whey protein hydrolysate (WPH). Fractions of WPH with different molecular weight (MW) were separated by ultrafiltration. Kunming mice in various treatment groups were orally administered (1.5gkg-1 body weight) whey protein isolate (WPI), WPH or WPHs with different MW (<5, 5-10, 10-30 or >30 kDa) for 6weeks to explore whether different MW fractions of WPH affected mice fatigue. RESULTS: Compared with the control group (orally administered 9gkg-1 saline) or the WPI group, low-MW (<10 kDa) WPH groups showed prolonged swimming time (P < 0.05) and had higher concentrations (P < 0.05) of glucose, non-esterfied fatty acid, liver glycogen, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase and lower concentration of lactate. Low-MW (<10 kDa) WPHs had higher hydroxyl- and α,α-diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazyl-scavenging abilities and ferrous-chelating capacity than WPI. CONCLUSION: The results proved that low-MW (<10 kDa) WPHs with higher anti-fatigue capacity showed higher free radical-scavenging and ferrous-chelating activities. © 2013 Society of Chemical Industry.

Multivariate time series (MTS) are used in very broad areas such as finance, medicine, multimedia and speech recognition. Most of existing approaches for MTS classification are not designed for preserving the within-class local structure of the MTS dataset. The within-class local structure is important when a classifier is used for classification. In this paper, a new feature extraction method for MTS classification based on supervised Neighborhood Preserving Embedding (NPE) is proposed. MTS samples are projected into the PCA (principal component analysis) subspace by throwing away the smallest principal components, and then, the MTS samples in the PCA subspace are projected into a lower-dimensional space by using supervised NPE. Four different classifiers are used in our experiment. Experimental results performed on six real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach for MTS classification. © 2013 IEEE.

Risk management in outsourcing is now being considered to be a key competitiveness differentiator in an outsourcing project management's success (Hutchins and Gould 2004; Kliem 2004). Risk management of outsourcing attempts to reduce the possibility of negative outcomes on the outsourcing project, which in turn could increase the likelihood of an improvement in the end product quality; thus giving the organization a competitive advantage. This paper reviewed the relevant literature in outsourcing risk management to identify ten key risks in outsourcing. The paper shows that risks can increasingly originate from multiple sources, affect multiple agents with divergent perspectives and thus become a systemic cycle. © 2013 IEEE.

Street foods often reflect traditional local cultures and offer a unique cultural experience to tourists and even to ordinary consumers. With the increasing pace of globalization and tourism, the safety of street foods has become one of the major concerns of public health. There is an urgent need, in China, to establish a national program to raise the food safety awareness and knowledge of street food vendors. The safety and hygiene status of street foods in Shijiazhuang city was investigated. Data on the street food vendors' food safety knowledge and practices, inspectors' regulatory capacity and consumers' purchasing habits were collected. Potential hazards in the preparation and sale of street foods were analyzed and strategies for ensuring the safety of street foods were recommended. The study showed that the street food safety risks are primarily due to the use of unqualified raw materials encouraged by ineffective inspections, poor infrastructure at the street food vending sites and lack of sanitation knowledge among street food vendors. In order to prevent street foods from being contaminated, more stringent and effective routine supervision and food safety practices should be adopted and the environmental conditions and facilities should be improved. Regular training in food processing technology, food safety knowledge and practical food safety evaluation methods should also be strengthened among street food vendors and food safety inspectors. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd.

Cloud-based mechanisms are required to ensure data security and privacy, and to fulfill the regulatory and audit requirements of enterprises. Without a profound increase in the understanding and assessment of the risks accompanying Cloud computing, and without proper countermeasures being deployed and evaluated, the Cloud may become the exclusive domain of non-sensitive data-a status far below its anticipated potential. The joint issues of privacy and security must be addressed, if Cloud computing service providers intend to attain a status in the computing domain similar to "utility providers" in the general world-as trusted, reliable purveyors of pay-per-use access to fundamental (in this case, computing) resources. © 2014 WIT Press.

Along with the rapid development of market economy, the enterprises have gradually established customer-centered management mind in China. The customer relationship management (CRM) can help the enterprise make full use of advanced information technique to optimize its resource allocation and to reorganize its business process in order to provide comprehensive and individual service for customer, and improve customer satisfaction and loyalty. However, it is far not enough if the enterprise only possesses advanced technique system. The key success factor of CRM lies in how to apply the technique system. Therefore, this paper analyzes the problems of CRM during its actual application process, and puts forward corresponding application tactics, in order to provide theoretical instructions for the CRM system application in Chinese enterprise. © 2010 IEEE.

This paper presents an object-event mechanism based overlay network simulation experimental platform (ONSP). The platform adopts object-oriented approaches to provide an effective application-layer active network simulation method. The method abstracts network elements, simulates the change of system performance through parameters setting, and introduces users' session triggered by event. This strategy conducts experiments avoiding unnecessary construction of actual physical network, so that to save the cost of the experiment and to make mass network tests possible. At another time, the platform has established a complete performance evaluation model, and can synthetically measure the relative performance of variety of services to ensure the accuracy of test results. The productions in this paper will provide important support to overlay network services technology, QoS-assure technology, and applications of distributed multimedia systems. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
