Modified polyaspartic acid was prepared from aspartic acid and polysuccinimide that was thermal condensation polymer of aspartic acid. The properties of scale and corrosion inhibition of modified polyaspartic acid were studied. The structure of modified polyaspartic acid was characterized by means of FTIR. Calcium carbonate crystals in scale samples and corrosive test piece were analyzed by means of SEM. The results showed that under Ca 2+ 400 mg L -1, HCO 3 - 800 mg L -1 and modified polyaspartic acid 6 mg L-1, the scale inhibition rate of modified polyaspartic acid was 100 %. The modified polyaspartic acid possessed good corrosion inhibition performance and the corrosion inhibition rate of modified polyaspartic acid could reach 86.26 %. Modified polyaspartic acid could distort calcium carbonate crystallite and made calcium carbonate crystallite more dispersive. The test piece was immersed in solution with modified polyaspartic acid, the sample had no pits on its surface.

The polysuccinimide (PSI) was prepared via thermal condensation of aspartic acid (ASP), and then the copolymer of polyaspartic acid PASP-SEA-ASP was synthesized by the prepared PSI with taurine (SEA) and ASP. The structure of the synthesized polyaspartic acid copolymer was characterized by FT-IR and elemental analysis, and the calcium carbonate crystal of the scale samples were analyzed with SEM. The effects of the different mole ratios of PSI:SEA:ASP on the grafting ratio of PASP-SEA-ASP and on its scale inhibition performance and dispersal property for iron oxide in aqueous solution were studied. The results show that the PASP-SEA-ASP containing sulfogroup and carboxylic acid group has good scale inhibition performance, especially when the mole ratio of PSI:SEA:ASP is 1:0.6:0.4. When the concentration of Ca2+ is 400 mg·L-1, HCO3- 800 mg·L-1 and the used dosage of PASP-SEA-ASP is 4 mg·L-1, the scale inhibition ratio of PASP-SEA-ASP is 59%; and the least diaphaneity of the top liquid of the aqueous solution with dispersing iron oxide is 53% when 10 mg·L-1 of PASP-SEA-ASP is used. It was found that the copolymer of polyaspartic acid could distort calcium carbonate crystallite and make calcium carbonate crystallite more dispersive.

In this research the fabrication of carbon aerogel is reported. Nano-pore carbon aerogels were prepared via a sol-gel process with resorcinol and formaldehyde (RF) aerogels,which were cost-effectively manufacture form Rf wet gels by an ambient drying technique instead of conventional supercritical drying. The key of the work is to fabricate carbon aerogels with controllable nano-pore structure, which means sharp pore size distribution and extremely high surface area.The influence of preparation condition of carbon aerogels was studied by scanning electron microscope and Micropore Physisorption Analyzer. The BET surface of the carbon aerogels are from 749m2/g to 1156m2/g.The size of the carbon nano-particles are in the range of 20nm~40nm. The micro-pore volume and bore diameter can be controlled by gelation conditions such as RF mass fraction. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The corrosion inhibition performances of polyaspartic acid(PASP) to copper in 3% Citric Acid were studied Using steady polarization. The results showed that the corrosion inhibition efficiency increased with increasing concentration of PASP at the given temperature and the corrosion inhibition efficiency decreased with increasing temperature at the given concentration of PASP. © 2011 IEEE.
