Objective To develop gradient elution HPLC method for the determination of related substances in benzathine benzylpenicillin. Methods The HPLC method was carried on a column packed with end-capped octadecylsilance bonded silica gel, 0.05mol/L potassium dihydrogen solution (adjust pH to 3.1 with phosphoric acid ) as mobile phase A and methanol as mobile phase B, the flow rate was 1.0 mL per minute, linear gradient elution. The column temperature was 40°C. The detection wavelength was 220 nm. Results Benzathine and benzylpenicillin could be completely separated from the other impurities respectively. Limit of detection for benzathine was 2.5ng. Limit of detection for benzylpenicillin was 0.6ng. Conclusion The proposed HPLC method was specific and sensitive. The method could be used for the determination of related substances in benzathine benzylpenicillin.

A high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method was developed for the simultaneous determination of paracetamol; caffeine and chlorphenamine maleate in Pediatric Paracetamol and Amantadine Hydrochloride Granules. The separation was performed on a Dia-monsil C18 column with 0. 1% triethylamine aqueous solution (adjusted pH to 3.7 ± 0. 5) and acetonitrile as the mobile phase of gradient elution at a flow rate of 1. 0 mL/min. The detection wavelengths were set at 280 nm and 210 nm. The linearities were wide \2. 4 -60, 0. 14 -3. 6, 0.019 -0.48 μg for paracetamol; caffeine and chlorphenamine maleate, respectively) and the average recoveries were not less than 99. 0%. The method is simple; accurate and reproducible. It is a good method for the quality control of Pediatric Paracetamol and Amantadine Hydrochloride Granules.

A method of capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) has been established for the ehiral separation of pitavastatin calcium enantiomers. Several parameters such as the running voltage the composition and the pH value of the running buffer the types of additive and so on were evaluated. The optimal separation conditions were as follows1 capillary; 53 cm (45 cm effective length; 50μm) running buffer; 80 mmol/L Tris-HCl; pH 3. 20; which contained 50 mmol/L HP-β-CD (hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin) and 5 mmol/L SDS (sodium dodecylsul-phate) j applied voltage; 18 kV (54 μA); J column temperature; 23°C; injection; 2 s at the height of 17 cm. Under these conditions; pitavatatin calcium enantiomers were separated well with the resolution of 2. 17. The results indicate that this method is rapid; simple; accurate and suitable for the ehiral separation of pitvatin calcium enantiomers.

The newly synthesized ternary complex holmium(III) benzoate 2, 2'-bipyridine, [Ho (BA)3bipy]2, was characterized by infrared and Raman spectra. The coordination modes of lanthanide metal holmium with the ligands were discussed initially by attributing vibration frequencies of the complexes. It was found that in the Raman spectra Δν (COO-) (126 cm-1) of asymmetric and symmetric vibrations of the COO- group in the complex was less than that in the sodium salt of benzoic acid (150 cm-1). In accordance with coordination rule of infrared spectra, the carboxylate groups coordinated to metal holmium might present three kinds of coordination modes: chelating bidentate, bridging bidentate or bridging-chelating tridentate. The results of the crystal structure showed that the carboxyl groups exhibited two kinds of coordination modes: chelating bidentate and bridging bidentate. Therefore, the coordination rule of carboxylate group with holmium analyzed by Raman spectra and by infrared spectra was consistent.

The paper is to establish a method for simultaneous determination of 5 kinds of alkaloids in ephedra and poppy which are in Kechuanning tablets. Solid-phase extraction (SPE) was adopted in pretreatment, and a UPLC method with 2 different wavelengths had been developed: 210 nm for the detection of morphine, codeine phosphate, ephedrine hydrochloride and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, and 251 nm for papaverine hydrochloride. The column used was Acquity UPLC BEH C18 (100 mm × 2.1 mm ID, 1.7 μm) with linear gradient elution using acetonitrile and 0.1% phosphoric acid. The flow rate was 0.4 mL·min-1, and the column temperature was 30 °C. The linear response range was 0.375 0-12.50 μg·mL-1 for morphine, 0.064 32-2.144 μg·mL-1 for codeine phosphate, 0.030 06-1.002 μg·mL-1 for papaverine hydrochloride, 1.126-37.52 μg·;mL-1 for ephedrine hydrochloride, 0.287 8-9.592 μg·mL-1 for pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (r = 0.999 7). The average recoveries of these compounds were 99.26%, 100.6%, 95.29%, 100.1% and 97.48%, respectively. This is a more reasonable and credible method of quality control for Kechuanning tablets.
