Based on MapGIS components (COM), extremum mark program of isoline map is implemented through Visual Basic soft system. First of all, the point working area containing geophysical and geochemical exploration data was build using MapGIS components technology, and then readin MapGIS isoline area file (. wp). Secondly, through the judgment of closed arc-sect number, the area containing extreme value was selected. Thirdly, intersection analysis between the point and the extreme area were managed to extract the extremum of the data. Farther, extreme value of the data were extracted, then through the comparison both the extreme value and contour height value which trap it, great value or minimum value was obtained. Finally, files of extreme value point(. wt) were found, thus the mark of the extreme value were completed on the contour map.

Under certain conditions landscape topography which utilizes mine tailing reservoir construction using is likely to increase lateral recharge source regions, resulting in dramatic changes to the local hydrological dynamic field and recharge of downstream areas initiated by runoff, excretion state, elevated groundwater depth, shallow groundwater, rainfall direct communication, and thinning of the vadose zone. Corrosive leaching of topsoil over many years of exposure to chemical fertilizers and pesticides may result in their dissolution into the groundwater system, which may lead to excessive amounts of many harmful chemicals, therby affecting the physical and mental health of human residents and increase environmental vulnerability and risk associated with the water and soil. According to field survey data from Yujiakan, Qian'an City, and Hebei provinces, this paper analyzes the hydrogeological environmental mechanisms of areas adjacent to mine tailing reservoirs and establishes a conceptual model of the local groundwater system and the concentration-response function between NO3 - content in groundwater and the incidence of cancer in local residents. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Distributions of geochemical anomalies have characteristics of muster and concentration in Hebei province. According to distribution regularities of main ore-forming elements, 19 geochemical anomaly gathered-areas are divided in Hebei. A-nomaly gathered-areas have well relationship with the formations, structures, and igneous rocks, which gather mostly mantle slop area in deep tectonics. The study results show that Au is enriched in Archean strata are As, Pb, Zn, Ag, Mo are enriched in mesozoic volcanic basins, Pb, Zn, Ag, Cu, Mo, Au are enriched in Wulonggou-Shanghuangqi fault belt, and iron group elements are enriched in Damiao-niangniangmiao fault belt. The distribution regularities should be paid atten-tion to for mineral exploration work in future.

Analysis of geochemical characteristics in Hebei province shows that molybdenum is one of the main oreforming elements in the region. The study indicates that Mo background value increases gradually from the south to the north of Hebei. Mo geochemical province is delineated in the northern part which covers an area of 30000 square kilometers. Relationship between concentration patterns and distribution of molybdenum ore deposits is close, furthermore, multistage concentrating is more conducive to the formation of molybdenum ore deposits. According to the geological conditions of molybdenum mineralization and geochemical enrichment pattern, prospecting direction of molybdenum ore deposits is summarized in Hebei. It points out that medium or large - sized, even super - large molybdenum ore deposits could be found in Zhangbei - Guyuan -Weichang of the north of Hebei, besides prospecting direction of the other areas, such as Laiyuan - Huailai - Chicheng, Xinglong Pingquan, Xinglong - Kuancheng, is also analyzed.

Based on the visual basic system, a programme was developed to calculate the geochemical anomaly parameters. First, a points workspace including the geochemical element analysis data was created with the MapGIS COM technology in the programme, then the MapGIS geochemical anomaly region fileC. wp) was input, Finally, calculated the parameters using the intersection analysis of point file data and region file data. The results can be output to Excel file easily.
