Manufacturers of medical parts are under tremendous cost pressures that influence not least the choice of hot runner system. Budgets do not always cater for the best technical solution and so clients and customers often have to find a compromise between price and performance. The Multi Shot nozzle series features tips with open and conventional tips made of a special molybdenum alloy. They are available as standard parts in four different lengths, and with 2-, 4- and 6-gate nozzles with pitch diameters of 20, 25, 32 and 40 mm. Tubular heating elements on both sides ensure uniform heat input and a homogeneous temperature profile in the block. Compression of the deformable nickel mesh generates on locking intimate contact with the wall that drives the heat transfer from the heater into the block. After Hasco had delivered the entire hot half within four weeks, the tool was assembled in a few days and tested on prefabricated mold plates at elm-plastic. Source

80% reduction in energy consumption, 40% reduction in investment costs and 20% reduction in overall manufacturing costs are the characteristics of the Exjection technology, a novel plastics processing technology for the production of ledges, rails and profiles with functional geometry features. In cooperation with renowned partners from the plastics industry IB Steiner, an engineering company situated in Spielberg, Austria, has developed this innovative technology and demonstrated its maturity for implementation in series production. Mouldings with high lengths can be manufactured economically on small moulding equipment. With the start of operation of the first Exjection rotational mould in July 2010, the continuous manufacturing of endless injection mouldings has been realised for the very first time worldwide. Börner GmbH, Germany and Hasco Hasenclever GmbH + Co KG, worked jointly to develop a single-cavity injection mold for a slicer box to produce household articles in different colors. Hasco Hasenclever GmbH + Co KG employed direct gating through a hot runner nozzle with a pneumatically operated needle valve to meet these requirements. The valve nozzle technique was able to meet the existing standard requirements of improved process control, short cycle times, and constant product quality, along with better spurue appearance. The nozzle valve series revised completely and enhanced in many aspects to meet these requirements. It was also optimized referring to pressure, color change, and gating quality, demonstrating that the heating unit, thermocouple, and nozzle tip had the potential to be exchanged to facilitate maintenance. Hömberg GmbH Kunststofftechnik/Formenbau, Germany, is using the flexible sealing element A4200 from Hasco. This high temperature resistant plastic combines excellent strength and high elasticity to maintain its machined profile. It is so resistant to temperatures and acids that it cannot be damaged by common injection molding materials. Its chemical composition prevents the sealing element from entering a bond with the injected plastic melt. The sealing element can be easily machined using freshly sharpened milling or turning cutters. Even the finest contours can be machined with utmost precision. The sealing element can be secured by means of screws, clamps, or a friction-locked joint with fixing pins. Source
