A taper measurement system for taper gauges was established to meet the needs of domestic machine tool manufacturing companies. The system combines the measurement of integer and decimal together, so small angle interferometer is one of the most important parts. Some important error factors that influence the small angle measurement were discussed, and then parameter calibration methods were proposed. By using a "positive-negative rotation method", the zero-angle position can be easily calibrated. In order to calibrate the sinusoidal arm length, an inverse deducing method was proposed. The experiments show that the standard deviation of the small angle interferometer is up to 0.02? compared with national angle standard.

The tooth form measuring method of unknown parameters bevel gear is proposed. And the tooth form deviation is calculated. The implementation software has been developed using Microsoft VC++ based on the type 3906 gear measuring center manufactured by Harbin Measuring & Cutting Tool Group Co., Ltd. The measuring experiments show that the measuring method is correct and the software is feasible.

To perform precise measurement on mega gears, the principle of mega-gear in-site measurement system with laser tracker and corresponding key techniques are originally introduced. Considering the mega-gear in-site measurement system with laser tracker integrates the large-scale measurement capacity of laser tracker and the high accuracy of coordinate measuring machine, the laser tracker is used to establish the coordinate system both for mega gears and the Three-coordinate Measurement Platform (TMP), thereby, their coordinate systems are associated by the coordinate system of the laser tracker, and the module and algorithm of coordinate system fitting are proposed simultaneously. Meanwhile, a novel module of attitude adjustment of TMP is established, which can be accomplished by the system of attitude adjustment to ensure that the position relationship between TMP and the axis of gear can meet the measuring requirements. The results illustrate that the principle of mega-gear in-site measurement system with laser tracker is correct and feasible, and in consequence it can meet the six grade precision measurement requirements of mega gears.

A new design of rapid inspection machine for automotive gears based on Gear Integrated Error (GIE) technology is introduced in this paper. The novel equipment can be used in production workshops to get analytical results such as profile deviations and pitch deviations of spur and helical cylindrical gears. The distinguishing features of GIE are summarized by analyzing the principle of GIE method, the specific measuring master, and the curves of GIE measuring results. Then the design approach, system structure, procedure of inspection, key parameters, and specifications of the newly designed rapid inspection machine are introduced. It is difficult and critical in the GIE technology to distinguish the involute meshing phase and to determine the exact coordinates of the starting and end points in a GIE curve. An innovative algorithm is also proposed to solve this problem. The performance of the rapid inspection machine has been verified by experiments in two aspects, the accuracy and the efficiency. It can be seen that the accuracy of the rapid inspection machine for automotive gears is good enough to meet the design requirements and the efficiency is much higher than Gear Measuring Centers (GMCs). © Copyright 2015 by ASME.

Built the thermal deformation model of high-speed and exactitude thermo grip according to the thermal deformation theory .And numerical simulation of the thermal stress was performed by finite element analysis software of ANSYS. The thermal deformation experiment had be done with φ10 and φ16 specifications thermo grip. Experimental data and simulation analysis are fit well. According to the serious problem in milling cutting , experiment of cut-in impact disrepair has been done. Based on the method of experiment data and mathematical analysis, cumulate function of cut-in impact disrepair was founded with Weibull software and Matlab software. The cut-in style with minimum disrepair was optimized. The results showed that the U style has the longest cutting length, the most impact-resistant times, and the best ability of impact-resistant disrepair. The sequence of impact-resistant disrepair was U style, V style, T style, and S style. The theoretical basis was provided for the application of 3D complex groove milling insert in reason. © (2010) Trans Tech Publications.

In modern machining, the cutting tool life is a very important indicator which can be impacted by many factors. Calculating the tool life based on the existing theories results in a big difference from the practical situation. Therefore, the conception of equivalent life of tool was raised, the corresponding mathematical model was founded, and the method of calculation was given in this paper. Based on the Labview, the tool life prediction software was developed. Combined with the technology of RFID, the information of residual tool life can be got in real time and the residual cutting tool life can be predicted precisely through this software. © 2014 ICIC International.
