Hangzhou Dianzi University is a university located in Hangzhou, China. It was founded in 1956 as the second public university in Zhejiang Province. It was formerly named Hangzhou Institute of Electrical Engineering and was renamed in 2004.HDU is administered directly by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Provincial Government. Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of privacy concern on user adoption of location-based services (LBS). Design/methodology/ approach - Based on the data collected from a survey, structural equation modeling was employed to examine the research model. Findings - The results indicate that among four dimensions of privacy concern, collection and secondary use are the main factors affecting perceived risk, whereas errors are the main factor affecting trust. Trust affects perceived risk, and both factors determine usage intention. Practical implications - Mobile service providers need to alleviate users' privacy concern and perceived risk in order to encourage their adoption and usage of LBS. Originality/value - Extant research has mainly examined LBS user behavior from the perspectives of technology acceptance model, task technology fit and unified theory of acceptance and usage of technology. The results provided in this paper indicate that privacy concern also has a significant effect on user adoption of LBS. Extant research has focused on the initial adoption and usage of mobile services and paid little attention to the post-adoption and continuance usage. However, unless users continue using mobile services, service providers cannot achieve success. Drawing upon the expectation confirmation theory, this research develops a mobile post-adoption model. The post-adoption behaviour includes three variables: continuance intention, recommendation and complaint. We conducted data analysis with partial least squares. The results indicated that expectation confirmation, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and usage cost significantly affect users' satisfaction, further determining their post-adoption behaviour. In addition, perceived usefulness has a direct effect on the continuance intention. Source

Cr3+ doped transparent glass ceramics of SiO2-Ga2O3-Li2O were fabricated by melt-quenching and subsequent crystallization. X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy analyses evidenced that cubic LiGa5O8 nanocrystals were homogeneously precipitated among the silicate glass matrix. The incorporation of Cr3+ ions into LiGa5O8 nanocrystals was evidenced by absorption, emission and time-resolved luminescence spectra. Impressively, the present Cr3+ doped glass ceramics were demonstrated to be a new near-infrared (~720nm) long-lasting bulk phosphor whose luminescence can last for more than 2h after stoppage of UV (250-350nm) irradiation. The occurring of Cr3+ long-lasting phosphorescence in the glass ceramics was confirmed to be mainly due to the precipitation of Cr3+:LiGa5O8 nanocrystals from glass matrix. The filling/releasing of electrons into/from the intrinsic traps of LiGa5O8 nanocrystals through the conduction band of host were proposed to be responsible for the realization of the long-lasting phosphorescence of the investigated Cr3+ doped glass ceramics. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. Due to the high perceived risk, building users' initial trust is crucial to facilitating their adoption and usage of mobile banking. Drawing on the elaboration likelihood model (ELM), this research examined users' initial trust in mobile banking. The results indicated that initial trust develops along a dual route including the central route and peripheral route. Self-efficacy as the elaboration likelihood moderates the effects of central cues and peripheral cues on initial trust. Central cues include information quality and service quality, whereas peripheral cues include system quality, structural assurance and reputation. The results imply that service providers need to employ differentiated strategies to build users' initial trust in mobile banking. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. Source

The inverted pendulum problem is one of the most important problems in control theory and has been studied excessively in control literatures. When a control system have more than two PID controllers, the adjustment of PID parameters is not an easy problem. In this paper, PID controllers are applied to the stabilization and tracking control of three types of inverted pendulum. The way how to design the PID controllers is given step by step in this paper. Simulation results prove that the way to design of PID controllers is very simple and effective. The system design not only can realize stabilization and tracking control of three types of inverted pendulum, but also have robustness to outer large and fast disturbances. © 2010 Elsevier B.V.
