Glass and Ceramics (English translation of Steklo i Keramika) | Year: 2011

The structural particulars of porcelain articles manufactured by the drain and solid methods of slip casting are determined. It is shown that the method used to manufacture an article can be identified. The data obtained can be useful for determining the mechanism of defect formation in porcelain manufactured by the casting method.

Glass and Ceramics (English translation of Steklo i Keramika) | Year: 2011

The structure of a casting spot defect on porcelain articles is investigated. Recommendations are made for eliminating this defect. These recommendations can also be used in the manufacture of articles by casting using faience, majolica, and other materials. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.

Glass and Ceramics (English translation of Steklo i Keramika) | Year: 2010

A slip-casting technology for preparing two- and three-fraction composite ceramic materials is examined. Their structural parameters are investigated. The strength of the materials is determined. Anomalous behavior of the material strength is found near the percolation threshold (filler content-16%); this is a structural effect. © 2010 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.
