In this work, the propagation of plane waves at an interface of two electromicrostretch thermoelastic solid half-spaces is studied. Amplitude ratios of various reflected and transmitted waves are presented, when a plane wave is made incident obliquely at an interface of electromicrostretch thermoelastic solid half-spaces. The amplitude ratios are influenced by angle of incidence and the properties of media. Numerical computations are performed for a specific model to determine the amplitude ratios and the obtained results are described graphically with angle of incidence. The influence of electric and thermal relaxation effects is observed on reflection and transmission coefficients. Some special cases of interest have also been concluded from the present investigation. © 2014 Copyright Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.

The aim of the present paper is to study the propagation of Lamb waves in micropolar generalized thermoelastic solids with two temperatures bordered with layers or half-spaces of inviscid liquid subjected to stress-free boundary conditions in the context of Green and Lindsay (G-L) theory. The secular equations for governing the symmetric and skew-symmetric leaky and nonleaky Lamb wave modes of propagation are derived. The computer simulated results with respect to phase velocity, attenuation coefficient, amplitudes of dilatation, microrotation vector and heat flux in case of symmetric and skew-symmetric modes have been depicted graphically. Moreover, some particular cases of interest have also been discussed.

The present paper is concerned with the propagation of waves in microstretch thermoelastic solid with microtemperatures. The phase velocity, attenuation coefficient, penetration depth and specific loss of longitudinal displacement wave, thermal wave, microstretch wave, longitudinal microtemperature wave, coupled transverse displacement wave, microrotational wave, transverse microtemperature wave are obtained. Microstretch, microtemperatures and microrotational effects on the phase velocity, attenuation coefficient, penetration depth and specific loss have been evaluated numerically and presented graphically. Some special cases of interest are also shown. © The Author(s) 2014.

Silt particle laden flow through hydro turbine components causes erosion to the surface which comes in contact with it. Silt size, silt concentration, velocity of flow, properties of silt materials and operating hours of turbine play a vital role in damaging the turbine components. Efficiency of the turbine decreases with increase in erosive wear. The present study has been carried out to experimentally investigate the effect of silt size, silt concentration, jet velocity and operating time on performance of Turgo impulse turbine under actual flow conditions. It has been found that turbine efficiency loss strongly depends upon silt parameters. Existing test bed has shown erosion wear up to 1.8%, therefore resulting in the loss of power generation. Based on experimental data obtained for different parameters, correlations have been developed for the prediction of percentage efficiency loss of Turgo impulse turbine. © 2015 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Unsteady natural convection of viscous incompressible conducting fluid past a porous infinite vertical flat plate placed in a porous medium has been examined. A uniform magnetic field is imposed along the direction of fluid flow. In the present work, the influence of heat absorption under the influence of gravity modulation has been studied. The variable suction at the plate has also been assumed to be fluctuating. It is noted that the gravity modulation makes a significant impact on various flow and heat transfer parameters. © 2010 Pushpa Publishing House.

The emerging ontology matching focuses on developing knowledge oriented approach that has ability to automatically determine the right sense of ontology context. The recent research in ontology matching demonstrate that lack of background information, much often particular domain related knowledge, is one of the key issue among matching systems. In this work we have introduced a MBSOM approach to processing, sharing and reuse of knowledge among web applications with their intended meaning. MBSOM approach combines the ontology matching techniques, intelligent agent and WordNet as a background knowledge that could be significantly affect on web services and the ability to execute jobs for users more precisely without any human interference. Web mining gives an innovative direction for scientific research and pushing web technology to toward making the meaning information and exploits some data mining techniques to automatically extract valuable information from the World Wide Web. It makes an environment where the information available on the web can be semantically interpreted. Web mining assembles more feature to built web personalize interaction and customizing a web site according to the requirements of users, obtaining advantage of the knowledge attained from the study of the user's browsing behavior. However, the existing heterogeneous environment and usually a large server can't guarantee the reliability and making unstructured information. Therefore necessitate for research activities in web mining to extending a standard but intelligent, adaptive and distributed framework for the support of heterogeneous environment is apparent and semantic web is most promising techniques at that instances. Nowadays, wisdom information retrieval system is available on the web, which enables a new generation of intelligent web that utilizes this semantic information as source of knowledge. The vision of semantic web crafts an environment where the information available on the web can be semantically interpreted. However, with abundance of information on the web, it is complicated to interpret the information with their intended meaning. Achieving this by interoperability among different information systems is very laborious, tedious and error-prone task which results out of semantic heterogeneity. Semantic web suggested solution of retrieval of specific information through the use of ontology matching technique and intelligent agent technology. In this paper we have proposed a knowledge-based grid for retrieving valuable information according to users necessitates. This paper also conducts a review of research in the area of intelligent communities and identifies the major theoretical and practical issues which need to be addressed. © 2014 IEEE.
