Deposition characteristics of idA-I containing various fatty acid or their methyl esters were investigated experimentalk. Test fuel was JetA-l to which lOwt% of a certain fatty acid or methyl ester was added. In deposition test, single droplet of test fuel was dripped on a hot surface repeatedl3. and evaporation deposits fonued on it were analyzed. As a result, the mass of deposits fonned froni the test fuels erc much larger than that formed from pure JetA-l. Moreover, it was found that the deposition mass increased with increasing the degree of unsaturation of fatty acid iluch was added to JetA-l. © 2012 The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers.
