Using singular value decomposition (SVD) method,the climate difference of 500hPa height field were analyzed for Guangxi in the autumn and winter draught/flood years. Results show that the convergence velocity of first mode in singular value decomposition of earlier 500hPa height field in winter is faster than that in Autumn, but the accumulative variance of the first and second singular vectors for two seasons all be over 60%. Therefor, the SVD modes corresponding to first and second singular vectors of two seasons are the predominant modes and reflect the main features of interaction between two element fields.
