In the expansive soil steep slope treatment, research and generalize FRP materials anchor bolt instead of steel anchor bolt. Selected appropriate expansive soil slope on the premise of comparability.Made FRP bolt and steel bolt contrast test formulation. The two types of anchor, stress, displacement, crack, ultimate bearing capacity test results contrast were analysed. It is concluded that the total effect of the four aspects of two kinds of bolt support is almost. But from the perspectives of durability, taken together, should change the traditional slope supporting methods, and the FRP bolt faster and more widely used in the expansive soil slope supporting. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Both the traditional response surface method (TRSM) and the stochastic response surface method (SRSM) for structural reliability are for scalar random variables at a given point of interested domain. This paper presents a vectorial type of cooperative response surface method (CRSM) to obtain structural reliability index. The linear expansions are presented for stiffness matrix and the nodal force vector. A suitable preconditioner is defined so that a set of hierarchical basis vectors are developed, with which a preconditioned Krylov subspace is expanded. The nodal displacement vector is approximated using the hierarchical basis vectors so as to define a cooperative response surface model. The sample points are determined in term of one-dimensional Hermite polynomials. Examples show that the proposed method is of high accuracy, global applicability and fast convergence.

In Nanning basin, because of the peculiar relief and stratum model, the bearing support soil layers for pile foundation of high-rise buildings generally is gravel layer or mudstone layers or sandstone layers. On first or second terrace in basin, gravel layer is most chose as the bearing stratum for pile foundation of high-rise buildings. Static driven piles are commonly used in Nanning, because they have advantages of fast construction, high bearing capacity and noiseless despite costly. In this paper, the actual test data of a 32-stories apartment building of a college in Nanning has been consider- ed in detail. According to the present situation of project operations, the test results show that the piles which length is less than 6m can fully meet the design requirements. Present landscape design is made by computer through design software, which has greatly improved landscape design efficiency. First, the concept and characteristics of three-dimensional visualization technology were introduced in this work. Then, the effect of three-dimensional visualization software in landscape design was analyzed according to the status. Results show that three-dimensional visualization technology is vital for landscape design, and the idea of threedimensional visual design should be built. © 2014 WIT Press.

Based on the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and the moving least-squares approximation, a new meshless model to study the geometric nonlinear problem of ribbed rectangular plates is presented. Considering the plate and the ribs separately, the displacement field, the stress, and strain of the plate and the ribs are obtained according to the moving least-squares approximation, the von Karman large deflection theory, and the FSDT. The ribs are attached to the plate by considering the displacement compatible condition along the connections between the ribs and the plate. The virtual strain energy formulation of the plate and the ribs is derived separately, and the nonlinear equilibrium equation of the entire ribbed plate is given by the virtual work principle. In the new meshless model for ribbed plates, there is no limitation to the rib position; for example, the ribs need not to be placed along the mesh lines of the plate as they need to be in FEM, and the change of rib positions will not lead to remeshing of the plate. The proposed model is compared with the FEM models from pieces of literature and ANSYS in several numerical examples, which proves the accuracy of the model. © 2014 L. X. Peng et al.
