A 6×6 diallel cross of six tobacco varieties with different resistance to bacterial wilt (Ralstonia solanacarum) was made. Genetic analysis was conducted by Griffing-I and Hayman' s method. Inheritance of resistance to bacterial wilt in tobacco in PI, P2, F1 and F2 from the cross Dayemihe (resistant, Chinese domestic variety) × Changbohuang (susceptible, Chinese domestic variety) was investigated by the mixed major gene plus polygene inheritance model of quantitative traits. Results indicated that the resistance to bacterial wilt in tobacco was controlled by nucleolus inheritance. The resistant genes parents were different. Resistance of the cross Dayemihe × Changbohuang was controlled by two adding-dominance-epistatic major genes plus adding-dominance polygene model. Effect of 2 main genes on addition and domination was 0.5013, -0.3023 and 1.6439, 0.8401 respectively while that of polygene was -1.3989 and -1.7798.
