The structure of the nonionic self-emulsifying waterborne epoxy curing agent was confirmed by infrared spectrum (IR), and most of the physical properties were also characterized. The curing process of waterborne epoxy resin was illustrated by observing the transmission electron microscope (TEM) of latex particles. And the influence of aliphatic amines, the mole ratio of amine and epoxy group, water content, and curing temperature on the properties of coating was investigated respectively. Results show that the best aliphatic amine is triethylenetetramine (TETA), the optimum performance of the waterborne epoxy coating is obtained when the mole ratio of the hydrogen and the epoxy is 0.8:1~1.2:1, the water content is 30%~40%, and the curing temperature is 30°C~50°C.
