The dimension of iron-copper sintered alloy is liable to change after sintering which cause inconvenience for the production of the parts. Some research advances on the sintering, grain size change, dimension change of iron-copper sintered alloy are reviewed briefly. When iron-copper powder is sintered at a higher temperature than the melt point of copper, copper melt and diffuse into the iron particle, forming a hole in the original place of copper particle which result in a swelling of the compact. By increasing the sintering temperature or extending the sintering time, the grain size of iron-copper get coarsening. The main influential factors of the dimension change of iron-copper sintered alloy are as follows: grain size, the compositon and content of the alloying elements. ©, 2015, Beijing Research Institute of Powder Metallurgy.
