The purity of the organic materials used in OLEDS has a major impact the luminescence characteristics of these devices. Impurities in an organic material prevent the transport of holes and electrons, or cause quenching. For high-performance OLED display and lighting applications, high purity of the organic material is necessary. Hence sublimation purifiers are often used to purify organic materials. The purity and the yield of the organic materials affect performance and cost of OLED products. In this paper, an inner reflection tube for a sublimation purifier is proposed. Moreover, in a vacuum environment, an organic material flow is simulated to improve the purification yield with the inner reflection tube. The inner reflection tube affects the material yield directly. Therefore, to reduce losses through the exhaust line, a DSMC simulation was conducted in an effort to find ways to improve the material yield by optimizing the design of the inner reflection tube. In the results of an experiment, the yield of a conventional sublimation purifier was 92.4% but with the reflection tube, the yield was improved to 96.3%.
