Medical image segmentation plays an important role in treatment planning, identifying tumors, tumor volume, patient follow up and computer guided surgery. There are various techniques for medical image segmentation. This paper presents a image segmentation technique for locating brain tumor (Astrocytoma-A type of brain tumor). Proposed work has been divided in two phases-In the first phase MRI image database (Astrocytoma grade I to IV) is collected and then preprocessing is done to improve quality of image. Secondphase includes three steps-Feature extraction, Feature selection and Image segmentation. For feature extraction proposed work uses GLCM (Grey Level co-occurrence matrix). To improve accuracy only a subset of feature is selected using Genetic algorithm and based on these features fuzzy rules and membership functions are defined for segmenting brain tumor from MRI images of .ANFIS is a adaptive network which combines benefits of both fuzzy and neural network. Finally, a comparative analysis is performed between ANFIS, neural network, Fuzzy, FCM, K-NN, DWT+SOM, DWT+PCA+KN, Texture combined +ANN, Texture Combined+ SVM in terms of sensitivity, specificity, accuracy. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

Our govt. adopted "liberalization & globalization" both as important weapons to enhance industrialization and foreign trade. Now India can export & import commodities freely. India has made a tremendous progress in many spheres such as industries, trade, agriculture & finance. Due to liberalization and globalization, government is moving heaven & earth to solve adverse balance of payment. Our agriculture is in progress. Special economic zones for industrial development have been set up and some are being started. Our currency Rupee is made fully convertible in 1993-94. As a whole, India is progressing in all the spheres of operation but some exceptions are still in existence in these two economic reforms. © Research India Publications.

An induction motor is a versatile industrial drive. Among the industrial drives used, 70% are asynchronous drives. Control of these drives is an important aspect. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Control technique is an excellent control strategy to control various parameters in an induction motor. These drives are increasingly employed in industry. The performance of PWM Controlled asynchronous drives often degrades. Induction motor works on best performance at certain voltage and frequency for certain loads. In this paper the PWM Controlled asynchronous drive is simulated in the environment of MATLAB. The experimental results are shown to validate the scheme. The model can be used to predict the operating voltage and frequency, when the load torque and speed changes. Thus, the efficiency of the induction motor can be increased. © Research India Publications.

In Cellular Networks, users can move between heterogeneous networks. In such kind of environment, handoff management is an important issue. Cellular Network supports the handoff of users between various wireless technologies. In this paper one of the handoff management issues is presented by the use of different path loss models. It deals with the addition of the Gaussian noise and hysteresis margin in the models to avoid the ping-pong effect and which cell to hand over in cellular network. Conventionally, the need to initiate handoff arises when the RSS of the serving base station deteriorates below the threshold value. This handoff management scheme adopts a hard handoff. It adaptively control the handoff time according to the load status of cells. The presented scheme supports better service quality for different kind of networks using various algorithms. © Research India Publications.

In the last two decade, we seen that very difficult to machining for hard or brittle material. In Ultrasonic Machining (USM) is the more preferable method for hard or brittle material. The hard or brittle material is having a poor conductor of electricity so it can be done only in the mechanical process so that ultrasonic machining is used because it have high frequency vibrating tool with mechanical motion. In between tool and work piece, there is slurry of abrasive is used and finally erode a hole or cut in the work piece. In this paper, we summarize the recent progress in machining mainly glass, titanium or ceramics. These material properties that it have high level of hardness or low coefficient of thermal expansion. In this work, we also summarize the effect of process parameter on material removal rate, tool wear rate or finishing of surface like glass, ceramics, titanium, for further application in manufacturing area. © Research India Publications.

This paper proposes an energy efficient wireless telemonitoring scenario of cardiac patients through ZigBee, based on variable duty cycle being rendered to sensors. In an intra hospital telemedicine scenario, Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals of patients are acquired through ECG sensor nodes having transmission capability and these ECG signals are received by Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) kept at nursing station through ZigBee network. ECG signals are further transmitted to Doctor's PDA. If the duty cycle is varied as per the load or number of active sensors, total energy consumed in idle mode can be avoided and total energy consumed by sensors is reduced hence increasing total network lifetime. This paper, comparatively analyzes the energy efficiency of ZigBee sensors with different percentage of duty cycle on the basis of energy consumption parameter under variable load conditions. The matrices used in performance evaluation are energy consumption in transmit mode, energy consumption in received mode and energy consumption in idle mode using Qualnet 5.0.2 simulator. © 2015 The Authors.
