The roads durability is an objective that gains more and more importance because of the economical - environmental factors. A durable road surface should be provided in the course of repair operations. Geogrids (carbon, glass or steel fibbers) are used for increasing the durability of overlaid asphalt surfaces. They reduce fatigue cracks as well as thermal cracking and prevent structural deformation. This article presents experimental results based on the thermal shrinkage-bending test. The mechanical performances of two double layers complexes (unreinforced or reinforced by grids) are discussed and analysed. In terms of durability, ecology and economical reasons, the three solutions presented in this article, wants to expose the behaviour of a mixture that is reinforced (in three ways) to improve the consumption of eco-elements (like stone and bitumen) and also to improve the life time of the future work. After analyse the three solutions UN, FP and CF we can conclude that a weak mixture (in eco-elements) can be very well improved in using the two reinforcing solution, presented below. © RILEM 2012.

The study presents the corrosion behaviour of S235JR carbon steel, X6CrA113 ferritic stainless steel and X5CrNi18 - 10 and X6CrNiMOTi17 austenitic stainless steels as a function of temperature in heavy fuel oil, light and heavy vacuum distillate originating from the processing of naphthene base crude oil, after 40 days of testing. Corrosion speeds and mechanical properties alter as a function of the naphthenic environment's temperature. The increase of the corrosion process is approximately linear with the temperature, up to 350°C. At 200°C the corrosion rate has already high values for carbon steel.

Producing of safer products by applying high pressure on biosystem, is a novel non-thermal technology with significant results in maintaining the natural characteristics of the food items. Modeling of the microorganism kinetics inactivation by the high pressure was determined and certificated by an experimental approach. It is established that the basic laws of the joint influence of the factors of high pressure, temperature and process time on microorganisms and vitamin C are reproduced in the framework of the linear kinetics. By choosing the values of the process parameters (pressure, temperature, duration of the process), the averaged thermodynamic characteristics of micro flora can be changed, as well as the value of the activation barrier of the biochemical reaction. Based on these results, working 40 min at the pressure 400 MPa, and temperature 300 K, the microorganism activity is minimum, and the vitamin C contain is preserved about 90 percent. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd.

The current study is mostly addressed to athletics coaches who deal with the selection and training of athletes for hurdle events. The research aims to develop few certain aspects of beginner and advanced athletes, training for professional athletics, within the orientation stage to short hurdle races. Our brief presentation intends to develop several particular aspects, less approached in the literature of motor learning and on selection field for children and juniors. In motor learning process, approached as a synergetic and inferential procedure, certain internal reconfigurations of learning units can be defined as effective re factoring steps, aimed on forming high level and very stable motor skills. Some of them may describe aspects of a narrow field of investigation, consisting in supportive arguments based on good practice experiences.

The aim of this study is to investigate the migration of heavy metals in meat can under different parameters (varnish, storage time, storage temperature, storage humidity and varnish width and porosity). The physicochemical and organoleptic properties of the meat can have been analyzed. The metal content (Cd, Pb, Cu, Fe, Zn and Sn) were determined by flame and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry after microwave digestion. The organoleptic and physicochemical properties of the samples have not modified significantly during the experiments. The metals migration is not influenced significantly by the varnish type. The highest level of metals in food products was observed at 4 and 50 °C. The porosity influenced significantly (p < 0.05) the migration of metals while the varnish width influence is not a significant one. The migration modeling using 3rd grade polynomial model achieved models with high coefficients of regression (greater than 0.9858). © 2013 Elsevier Ltd.

The key problem in any decision-making system is to gather as much information as possible about the object or the phenomenon under study. In the case of the radar targets the frequency and angular information is integrated to form a radar image, which has high information content. A supperresolution technique Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC 2D) is used in the paper in order to reconstruct the target image. A supervised self organizing neural network called SART (supervised ART) was developed to classify the images obtained in this way for eleven different scale reduced radar targets in an anechoic chamber.

The article deals with the issues of the financing sources both theoretically and practically. The financing decision has a great importance in leading a company because it is concerned with a certain structure of the capital, the aim being to reach certain goals: maintaining an appropriate auto financing level, insuring a maximum loan degree, following an optimum structure of the capital. In order to analyze the financing sources, we have chosen 15 companies listed at Bucharest Stock Exchange, out of which 9 from the first category and 6 from the second category. We have selected those companies which didn't have so high loses so their own capital is not negative.
