With the development of modern highperformance fighter aircrafts, the requirement of acceleration is growing faster and higher, which is far beyond the tolerance of the pilots. In the process of flight, exposure to positive acceleration (+Gz) is the most important threat to the tissues and organs of pilots. As we all know, the intestinal barrier is one of the significant barriers to prevent the endogenous pathogenic microorganisms and their toxins. This article reviews the impact of +Gz exposure on the gut barrier with regards to the establishment of +Gz models, the detection of related parameters of the gut barrier, and the damage of +Gz to the intestine, with an aim to improve the basic research of the gastrointestinal system in aviation medicine, and the pilot's health and flight safety. © 2015 Baishideng Publishing Group Inc. Background: Aseptic loosening of the prosthesis is a common complication after total knee arthroplasty. Whether the loosening of the prosthesis has relationship with the levels of tenascin-C, interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor is not clear. Objective: To observe the expressions of interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor α and tenascin-C of the patients with aseptic prosthesis loosening after total knee arthroplasty. Methods: Forty-five patients treated with total knee arthroplasty and revision surgery were selected as the experimental group, and 25 patients treated with initial total knee arthroplasty were selected as the control group. In the experimental group, the patients with history of inflammatory arthritis, systemic secondary arthritis infection, autoimmune disease and combined hepatitis, malignant tumors, hormones or immunosuppressants administration were eliminated. Synovial fluid samples of the prostheses in each group were obtained, and the expression of tenascin-C shear variants in synovial fluid was tested with Western-blot. The levels of interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor α and tenascin-C were analyzed with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results and Conclusion: Western blot results showed the presence of large tenascin-C variants in the synovial fluid of prostheses with loosening. The interleukin-6 and tenascin-C levels in the synovial fluid of prosthesis loosening were approximately three times higher than those in the control group, and tumor necrosis factor α level in the synovial fluid of prosthesis loosening was approximately 2.5 times higher than that in the control group. Levels of tenascin-C including large variant subunits are elevated in synovial fluid of prosthesis loosening, indicating that tenascin-C is a useful novel biochemical marker of prosthesis loosening.

OBJECTIVE: To Clone Ro 60 encoding gene in drug resistant gastric cancer cell line SGC7901/ADR, and detect the expression levels of Ro 60 in SGC7901/ADR. METHODS: Ro 60 encoding gene was cloned by RT-PCR method, and validated by DNA sequencing. Using semiquantitative RT-PCR method, the expression levels of Ro 60 in drug resistant gastric cancer cell line SGC7901/ADR and drug sensitive gastric cancer cell line SGC7901 were analyzed. RESULTS: Full length of Ro 60 was cloned in SGC7901/ADR, its sequence was identical with the cDNA of Ro 60. The results of semi-quantitative RT-PCR show that the expression level of Ro 60 in SGC7901/ADR was higher than that in SGC7901 (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: Ro 60 was highly expressed in drug resistant cancer cell line, and it may be a kind of multi-drug resistance related molecule.
