To enhance the quality of vehicular communication, vehicular ad hoc network has to be improved to handle the traffic related issues and maintain privacy. In order to fulfill the same, many schemes have been proposed in last decade. The Identity based Batch verification(IBV) scheme is one such scheme, which makes VANET more secure and efficient. Maintaining privacy through anonymity and reduction of verification time of messages by verifying them in Batch, are the main objectives of this scheme. This paper highlights the security issues of the current IBV scheme and introduces the concept of the random change of Anonymous Identity with time as well as location, to prevent the security attack and to maintain the privacy. In this scheme, performances are evaluated in terms of delay and transmission overhead. © 2017 IEEE.

The shunt active power filter has proved to be a useful device to eliminate harmonic currents and to compensate reactive power for linear/nonlinear loads. This paper presents harmonic identification and compensation for harmonics using shunt active filter. With load consisting of linear and non-linear loads, harmonics are induced in source components and affect the other sensitive loads connected at point of common coupling. Harmonics in source components insists for mitigation. Shunt active power filter is a custom power device used to compensate harmonics in power system source components. The work concentrates on identification of harmonics when non-linear loads are placed at different nodes of power system and their mitigation using shunt APF. Total Harmonic Power method/Active Compensation method is used for identification of harmonics. This paper proposes a new constant hysteresis current controlled objective for shunt active power filter which maintains a fixed switching frequency. In this control technique, the hysteresis bandwidth need not be specified in entire control objective. The operating principle of the proposed technique is proposed in this paper and implemented. Proposed work is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK and results are presented. © 2006-2017 Asian Research Publishing Network (ARPN).

The aim of the present experimental investigation is to investigate the feasibility of utilizing passive means to enhance the performance of a centrifugal compressor. The experimental investigation is done with partial shroud made of mild steel fitted on the tip of the rotor blade impeller exit traverse with a pre-calibrated five hole probe, and turbulence generator made with Velcro tape fitted inside the inducer leading edge impeller inlet traverse with a pre-calibrated three hole probe, for three flow coefficients, φ = 0.28(near design), φ= 0.34(above design) and φ = 0.18(below design). From the present experimental investigation, it is presumed that partial shroud on the tip of the blade has valuable impacts in efficiency and energy coefficient, as compared to without partial shroud on the tip of the blade. © TJPRC Pvt. Spatial image classification meant to the mechanism of extracting meaningful knowledge information classes from spatial images dataset. Many traditional pixel based image classification techniques such as Support Vector Machines (SVM), ANN, Fuzzy methods, Decision Trees (DT) etc. exist. The performance and accuracy of these image classification methods depends upon the network structure and number of inputs. Here, in this paper, we have proposed an step-wise mechanism to significantly improve the classification performance of neural network, that uses rough sets approach for purpose of features/attributes selection of image pixels. The complexity analysis of the proposed algorithm and the comparison of mechanism, presented here, with existing classification techniques based on features over the interest area is carried out. © 2016 IEEE.

An ion conducting polymer electrolyte based on poly (vinyl alcohol) PVA complexed with Succinic acid is prepared using solution cast technique. The structural properties of PVA and complexed electrolytes are studied using XRD and FTIR techniques. The results of XRD reveal that with the increase of Succinic acid concentration, the amorphous nature of PVA Polymer matrix increases. FTIR spectra studies for pure and complexed electrolytes reveal the vibrational changes that occur due to the effect of dopant in the polymer. The dc conductivity of these composite electrolytes has been studied. The dc conductivity of PVA is found to be increasing as the concentration of Succinic acid increases. © 2016 Elsevier Ltd. This paper presents, analysis of magnetizing inrush current for different voltage angles and harmonic analysis of that inrush current using different FFT windowing techniques. Time domain simulations were used to solve the inrush phenomenon. Square, Welch, Hanning and Parzen windows were used to truncate the obtained inrush current harmonic spectrum for investigation and with parzen windowing the harmonic magnitude is getting reduced due to its reduced side lobes. Inrush current harmonic spectrum obtained by using FFT algorithm in turn discrete fourier transform. Out of different solvers to solve state equation, ode23t solver is used. For an unloaded single phase transformer, inrush current in time domain and harmonic content of inrush current were presented. The results are helpful to estimate harmonics effects in the transformer inrush currents. The results establish a guide line for harmonic elimination due to inrush current and offer an important reference for system design. © 2013 IEEE.

Software Engineering is the domain developed for designing, coding and testing of various software projects of computer and other electronic devices. GSD is the environment for developing projects at geographically isolated areas beyond cultural peripheries in a harmonized vogue comprising synchronous and asynchronous communication. The conventional methods are utilized to estimate effort for co-located projects which are not efficient for GSD-projects. The parametric effort estimation models can estimate effort for both co-located and GSD-projects but it has impact factors on GSD-projects based on their cultural difference and distance. Here we have introduced Scheduling-based model for effort estimation. In this research, three models are calibrated for estimating effort in GSD-environment. The performance can be evaluated based on the accuracy of effort measured from the deviation of actual effort from completed projects and estimated effort before and after calibration. The calibrated estimation shows better accuracy in GSD-projects than the estimation before calibration. © 2016 ACM.

Nowadays most of the organisations are showing keen interest in using Six Sigma approach to improve their operations performance. Motorola coined the concept of Six Sigma and General Electric popularised it. This case study was conducted at bearing manufacturing facility located at Hyderabad. One of the important steps in bearing manufacturing is inner ring and outer ringp rocessing to tight tolerances. Improvement in the rejection rate of bearing rings was taken up as Six Sigma project. One of the basic aims of Six Sigma is to reduce variation by statistical thinking. Various statistical tools and techniques were employed in this study to improve the operations. Rejection rate of bearing rings has been reduced from 2.7% to 0.65% and sigma level of process increased from 4.04 to 4.44. Copyright © 2010 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Apart from static power loss, leakage power loss is considerably increasing with scaling. This paper analyses techniques for power reduction to be integrated to the 14 T full adder circuit to achieve low power reliable full adder circuits. However, to perform an arithmetic operation, a device can use up very low power by functioning at very low frequency but it may spend a very long time to finish the operation. Therefore, we measure the power dissipation and evaluate the performance of the system by calculating the Power-Delay Product (PDP), which is the product of average power consumption and delay. Power delay product at various supply voltages for different feature sizes has been considered for reliable results. © 2015 IEEE.

With the fastest growing nature of application migrating to cloud, the problem of choosing the best suitable cloud service for storage is always a challenge. The cloud storage services are majorly paid service and some of them are designed to deal best with specific kinds of data like read only or update only. Some of the services are designed to match small amount of data blocks and some of the services are designed to best match the larger blocks of data. Many of the application uses file storage, rather than RDBMS storage structure on cloud services. The storage hardware, replication and distribution policies are decided and controlled by cloud storage service providers. The storage options are converted and associated with manageable access portals. This access portal demonstrates the user interface view of the storage visualization and usability. In this paper we compare multiple cloud storage services on high textual data loads and implement an algorithm to choose the best cloud storage service based on cost and storage efficiency. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.
