The impact of DG(Distributed Generation) on the node voltage, power flow and power loss of distribution network is heavily depending on its size and location. Based on the static load model, the functional relation between its maximum penetration level and location is developed with the constraints of voltage and line capacity. The functional relation of the optimal DG location is developed with the objective function of the minimum network loss and the constraint of the maximum penetration level. The simplified and practical calculation function is given for several typical load distribution models. An example illustrates that the proposed method can be used in the grid planning to optimize the capacity of DG with determined place or to choose the place of DG with fixed capacity.

To analyze the flow conditions of the wet steam in the steam exhaust passage of a steam turbine, the software Fluent was used to conduct a numerical simulation of the flow inside the exhaust passage under various incoming flow conditions in combination with a phase-change model and a wet steam flow equation. It has been found that changes in the inlet steam wetness, swirling intensity and steam inlet angle will force the composition, location and intensity of the vortexes in the passage to produce changes. With an increase of the inlet steam wetness, the uniformity of the flow field at the outlet of the exhaust steam passage will enhance to a certain extent. With an increase of the inlet steam wetness, swirling flow intensity and steam inlet angle, the energy loss coefficient of the flow inside the exhaust steam passage will decline. ©, 2015, Reneng Dongli Gongcheng/Journal of Engineering for Thermal Energy and Power. Accidents caused by the pollution flashover have been threatening the safety of our power grid for a long time. The online monitoring of the leakage current of insulators is of great value to the job of discovering the theory of pollution flashover and preventing the pollution flashover. And whether we could get the satisfying result of the experimentation depends on the performance of the leakage current monitoring system we use. In this paper a novel 19-channel leakage current online monitoring system for natural pollution deposit test is introduced, including the hardware, the software of the system and experimental verification. According to the deficiencies of existing monitoring systems, this novel leakage current monitoring system has lots of advantages, such as 19-channel, high measuring precision, wide range measurement, data transmission based on 3G, recording and reporting the faults automatically. It can be used in the long-time polluted insulator aging test in the substation or lab and will be applied in the substation of natural pollution deposit test soon.

Neutral point ineffectively grounded power system is widely used in 3~66 kV power distribution system in China. In this power system, the single-phase-to-earth fault occurs frequently in distribution, thus how to detect the fault line with great accuracy and high efficiency is an important subject in protective relaying of power system. Reviewing the history of the methods to select the fault line in neutral point ineffectively grounded power system, this paper summarizes the existing theories of fault line selection and gives the conclusions.

According to the characteristic of AC-excited variable speed constant frequency wind power generation, vector control technique is applied to excitation control of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The mathematic model of DFIG is a coupling nonlinear system in synchronous rotating m-t coordinate system. This paper proposes a novel control method. First, the original system model of DFIG is linearized and decoupled to be a pseudo-linear system which is made up of original system and inverse system. Then, the variable structure control laws of the pseudo-linear system is designed. Finally, the excitation control simulation model of DFIG is established. The simulation result demonstrafes that the combination of vector control and variable structure control can realize the independent decoupling control of active and reactive power in system output. Compared with PI controller, variable structure controller shows better dynamic response.

Inter-harmonics in frequency converters has gained more and more attention. This paper takes common current source inverter (CSI) as an example, and adopts the modulation theory and Fourier analysis of the switch function to analyze the equivalent impedance characteristic of the CSI, and further deduce the mechanism of CSI producing harmonics in the source side, from which the inter-harmonic model of frequency converter for engineering application is established. Relying on the practical variable frequency starting system of a pumped storage power station and combining with computer simulation, the comparing results verify the reliability of the model.

As there is no common information model of power plant resource in IEC61970/61968, the object-oriented CIM (Common Information Model) of thermal power plant resource is built with UML(Unified Modeling Language) and modeling tool " Rational ROSE " according to the characteristics of China's power plants and the requirements of application systems. The modeling methods and rules, as well as other key technologies, are discussed. The models of equipment, exciter system and resource container for coal-firing power plant are analyzed with examples.

Simulating Ising model to calculate magnetization intensity by Monte Carlo method. The Ising model was introduced simply, sampled importantly, and calculated with programming. It shows the dependency relationship between the magnetization intensity and the size of dot-square line in different temperatures for Ising model. It cans edulcorate the approximation of analytic method by computer simulating. Voltage sag indices in international standards of IEC and IEEE and the literatures are summarized, analyzed and compared in detail. These sag indices are divided into nine categories according to the different characteristics that they reflect, such as SARFI, severity index, energy index, economic loss evaluation index and other indices. The applicability and both of advantages and disadvantages of indices are discussed, and severity index is improved. Four indices are proposed according to four aspects, including statistical index, severity index, event time indices and cost indices, and the recommended reason is also explained. The work of this paper promotes to the work of standard-setting of voltage sag in China.
