The paper improved the traditional transferring pattern and function about the BP neural network, it replaced the fixed transfer function with the mutative activation function to construct the tunable activation function neural network; it also gave the improved network algorithm and the conclusion. The actual diagnosis was imitated on the engine lubricating oil fault; the simulation indicated the method had the characters that the convergence speed was quick; the precision was high, and the generalization capability was best. © 2014 Springer-Verlag. We study the interactions of delta shock waves and vacuum states for the system of conservation laws of mass, momentum, and energy in zero-pressure gas dynamics. The Riemann problems with initial data of three piecewise constant states are solved case by case, and four different configurations of Riemann solutions are constructed. Spare parts and support equipment are two important interactional support resources. In the past, most approaches researched them separately without taking the relationship of them into account when forecasting the demand, which reduces the accuracy of forecast consequently. However, the amount of support equipment determines the maintenance support capability of logistics to a certain extent, which effects spare parts inventory directly. Through balancing and optimizing spare parts and support equipment at peacetime, we can effectively improve the accuracy of the forecast of their requirement at peacetime in order to achieve the aims of improving the utilization of expense and eliminating waste eventually. © 2011 IEEE. The data warehouse has increasingly become a focus of the database industry. A data warehouse is a collection of data from different sources that supports analytical querying. It constitutes the background to enable business intelligence solutions. In order to supply a decisional database, meta-data is needed to enable the communication between various function areas of the warehouse and an ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Load) tool is needed to define the warehousing process. In this paper, we will use a model to create an active ETL tool. In our approach, we use queries to achieve the warehousing process. In this paper, the finite element method is applied to optimize the stress distribution of the adhesively bonded composite patch for repairing of a cracked metal plate. A three-dimensional finite element model was created and simulated, a finite element procedure is programmed to find the optimized parameters of the composite patch, and the optimized parameters are listed for convenient application. The simulated result shows that the directions of the plies and the distance between the lap joints could affect the adhesive stresses distribution greatly, and compared with the single lap joint case, the maximum shear stress of the recommended multi-joints case could reduce more than 80 %. © 2014 Springer-Verlag.
