The possibility for reducing the dimensions and weight of a log-periodic antenna by implementing the antenna in the form of sections with the log-periodic structure period varying from one section to another was considered. Expressions for determining the law of variation of the log-periodic structure period, the optimal number of sections, and the frequency ratio were obtained. Conditions for maximum reduction of the antenna dimensions with the same gain factor at upper working frequencies are determined. © 2013 by Begell House, Inc.
