In this paper, the materials and product process of QT600-5 integral axle housing by resin sand casting process have been studied systematically. Based on the optimization of the chemical composition, alloy content, spheroidization and inoculation technology, the strength and elongation of axle housing have been improved, the problem of chunky graphite in housing also has been solved. The process optimization was helpful to solving the problem of dispersed shrinkage in axle housing, Axle fatigue strength test shows that fatigue cycle life increased from less 400 000 times to over 1500000 times.
